Not sure how many of you are car enthusiasts but man this car is absolutely fantastic. From the outside design to the massage leather seating, twin turbo v-8 engine. Long but in depth video of this beauty. I wish i had the money to purchase one of these. The styling is fantastic and one of the best re-designs. I was reading how the new CLS has more horsepower and torque with and actually gets more efficient gas mileage by a new system that constantly shuts off parts of the engine that are not being utilized. There are really some amazing achievements going on that will eventually trickle down to all vehicles. And I love that the top engineers and demand and markets are creating these efficiencies. I have a CL 550 but the CLS 63 AMG is looking like the next one for me.
That is indeed a damn beautiful car. The improvements you're describing though are, at least in concept, nothing new. Plenty of older cars (ie 20-30 y/o) turned off cylinder banks during highway driving for better gas mileage. The Prius is renown for being the first modern car to shut off the engine entirely at stop lights.
Agreed. I pre-ordered my wife's CLS550 last September and received it in January of this year. Now it seems every other car has copied its style and I'm seeing more and more of the new CLS everywhere around me. I do love it, good sized twin turbo and good gas mileage, I just prefer my XJL Super Charged. Made of aluminum and so much more baller. Love the interior, especially the seat sides that squeeze you into turns and relax on straight lines. When the car arrived. Went with the AMG rims and she curb rashed them two weeks later. Yeah, I got some that night.

Why because being successful and having nice cars makes us douche bags? On to the original topic. I actually have started to like this car. I love the CL and was thinking about that as my next car becuase I hate the CLS but more and more this one is starting to grow on me. I despised the overly rounded earlier models but this one get my attention with the right additions such as rims, trunk lid spoiler, etc. I have always been a BMW guy but it's been a while since I fell in love with a BMW.
Two different populations. Your population can dream about it but never afford it. I'm betting of the guys in here can afford it.
