can't get dwight. can't get bynum. then what?

    Exactly. We have built up enough guys (Lamb, Parsons, Morris, White, Patterson, Jones and Motiejunas) that we can give them decent minutes this season along with whatever FA point we would bring in, whatever holdovers (Martin, Scola) we still have if any and whatever guys we decide to play from the Bucks and Knicks deal. After a full season, the team should have a good understanding of who they want to see more of and who they would not. Moving forward with no superstar trade, I can see our squad looking something like this:

    Brooks/Douglas
    Lamb/Livingston
    Parsons/White/Morris
    Patterson/Jones
    Motiejunas/Harrellson

    Not going to be pretty and a whole lot of turnovers waiting to happen, but at least we will know who to build around moving forward and a nice lotto pick to boot.

    We probably don't give up Martin or Scola. The Rockets need their contracts to make minimum payroll.

    Which will end up being even more annoying than it's inspiration.

    As to the question, it's probably just wishful thinking, but I don't think they'll add anything other than a pg. Morey would want to keep his trade deadline options open.

    That's the worst collection of talent in the nba. If that's what we end up going in the season with then the writing should be on the wall for Morey. No reason you have Scola, Kmart, Lee & Lowry and the best you get back is Tony Douglas & Shaun Livingston?:confused: Failure

    Every single year there are free agents available. It's not like Dwight is the last Superstar that will be on the market. We develop our young players, stay under the cap and be ready to strike when the time is right. I know a lot of people want to gamble on a quick fix. But the quick fix could lead us into a very long term rebuilding process. Getting rid of young players and draft picks, and taking back bad contracts is very risky.
