So is the new threat to Houston from the Howard camp "we will sign with Dallas next summer"?

I think ESPN is trying to just build and create the shock value of reporting Duwight to Houston.

Wait....shouldn't the Lakers be JUMPING at the possibility of getting rid of that Gasol contract, as well as locking up Howard long-term?? This sounds like pure speculative garbage.....if that old man in Orlando WANTS to take back Gasol, WITHOUT picks, OR getting rid of their bad contracts, I'm gonna puke.

Your prose is on par with the great Psalms of the Bible written by none other than King David himself!

No worries JR. Its something to discuss. However, I think Mr. Evans here is purely speculating base on his own opinions on the matter.

If this is the case, then why isn't Dwight a Rocket already? From what Ive heard in the past 48 hours from Aldridge, Broussard, etc., this isn't the case at all. Quite the opposite actually, and this should make Rockets fans happy that this is the case.

The offers from Morey have been reported as though they are NOT willing to take back bad contracts in the process, and the offer is based around their young talent, expiring contract of Martin, and picks.

It seems like Morey is trying to setup the team to make additional moves after a Dwight trade to bring in a secondary player around him. Taking the contracts of Hedo, Richardson, and Duhon will lock the Rockets out of the running for potential trades, and keep this team out of the second round of the playoffs without that secondary piece around Dwight.

Morey is doing the right thing by not taking all of these contracts JUST to get Dwight. If he really was willing to do that deal then Dwight would have been a Rockets a long time ago.

You think the Nets/Magic/Dwight deal was confusing, try moving both the contracts of Gasol and Bynum and see how messed up those 4 or 5 team scenarios get. If Houston was still enamoured with Gasol then a nice little 3 team deal could be feasible, but it still would be easier for Houston to just deal directly with the Lakers in a separate deal then cater to Orlando's needs in the process.

Probably, but the right deal would have to be on the table first and foremost. Scola could probably bring back some assets in a trade, but the Rockets would have to take back some sort of salary in the process. This would be a hard pill for Houston to swallow unless they were confident that the deal they are working out is going to make them a contender for years. I wouldn't bid Scola farewell just yet. Its probably, but unlikely IMO.

Screw Howard. ALl he does is block, dunk, and smile. Nothing else. Let's go after Bynum, who is just as beastly defensively, a hell of a lot better offensively, younger, WANTS TO PLAY HERE, and we dont have to mortgage our future for him. Imagine Bynum in Orlando as the #1 option, he'd probably average 30, and 15.

I Dont get the obsession with DH.

We need to trade Scola to a team who has a coach that knows something about basketball. Maybe Scola to Philly?

    Bucher:

With Nets out, who is the frontrunner?

Houston Rockets because of effort. Rockets, while they have some pieces the Magic would look for in a deal, they can't give them cap relief. They could amnesty Scola but remains to be seen if they can make a one on one deal with the Magic. If it was what the Magic wanted, the deal would have happened by now and we wouldn't have the Magic asking Dwight if he would reconsider.

    Will he play in Houston?

Sources told me, where his back is, he won't be ready to start the season. Rockets would have to wait to Jan 15 where the Nets deal is back on the table and they could get Lopez at that point.

    IB4 the "U MAD" Meme

No framework for a deal has been announced. There is no reason to hate on him for simply being involved in negotiations. Until then.... give it a rest.
