Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, VH1, CMT, Spike TV, TV Land...

Hope they get it worked out for all you DirectTV people.

When Dish dropped AMC I couldn't have cared less, but this would have been a deal breaker for me.

LOL, I'd **** a brick if DirecTV dumped AMC but if these channels go away I won't skip a beat. It's probably because I'm not 13 anymore.

Hell, if AppleTV gets the NFL this season I will drop all cable/dish/etc. all together. AppleTV is super awesome. I'd much rather pay for what I want to watch than have 1000 channels that I never watch. Thinking about it now, I wouldn't care if DirecTV dumps AMC because I buy all of their shows on AppleTV.

    This is some bull****!

My son watches nothing but Nick Jr. shows... the only thing that keeps him distracted while the wife and I take care of house chores and what not.

I'm dropping them immediately if they don't get this mess straightened out.

Out of any of those, I'll miss Comedy Central.

I always thought Viacom had more stations than that...

$20 per month remaining on your contract, that's all!

It usually always gets resolved. At least in the cable industry it does.

With the exception of NFL network and TWC

I'm with TW and I wish they and the NFL would just get it done already!

I would have thought that you guys would get used to this by now since it happens yearly with both DirecTV and Dish.

Amc would have pissed me off. Walking dead. And breaking bad.

I'm sure they'll come to an agreement like they all do.

The reason why it likely won't get done is because NFL Network wants to have it included in the digital cable package. This would likely cause everyone's bill to rise (even if you don't care for the channel). TW wants to put it in their sports tier for $6.99 for those who actually want it.

    Same goes for longhorn network

Great news! Now maybe my 9 year old son can get over his prepubescent fixation on I-Carly and Victorious.

I will miss Tosh.0 and South Park, but not that much.

I think those quasi-monopolistic cable companies will always be able to price less competitively and even less consistently between individual markets than DirecTV or Dish; which will probably allow them to pay more for network rights.

Direct TV is offering the encore channels for free until the 31st during the negotiations with Viacom.

I believe they are channels 535-542.

I think DirecTV should start offering a Viacom package. If you want Viacom, you pay what Viacom wants you to pay.

If you have DirecTV, call them up and get to the retentions dept (where you get your service cancelled) and ask for a $100 credit on your next statement, as well as either a discounted or free Sunday Ticket. People on SlickDeals have been trying this and it has worked.

I'd like to think that the continuing movement of TV over broadband is going to establish this sort of thing. The major network families offering year-long subscriptions to individual channels or a discounted subscription good for the entire family of them.

    Viacom
    NBCUniversal
    ABC-Disney-ESPN
    CBS-Viacom
    Turner
    FOX
