Wilt never averaged 10 Apg. His heightest APG was 6.6.

I don't know why people are talking about Shaq all of a sudden, but I certainly remember a solid, solid, solid back to the basket game very early in his career. Yes, there was a TON of "force" in play with him, but he was well on his way to having and further developing and refining an offensive game.

Maybe someday it will click for Dwight. Because at times, you can definitely see its there. But more often, it appears that his offense, throughout his career, will depend way way way more on size and athleticism than pretty much any other HOF-like center in history.

That's not necessarily bad. He IS a better player than Bynum.

But with 5 minutes or less left in a close game, OFFENSIVELY, I'd rather have Bynum.

I don't remember O'Neal even developing a baby hook until his final year with the Magic, and even then, that was about the extent of his post game.

He really turned the corner in 1998-99, like I said, around the same age (26) as Dwight.

For all those comparing Dwight to Shaquille... not even close especially offensively.

Dwight Howard can't even crack scoring 23 points a game, his highest was 22.9 points per game. Shaquille O'Neal on the other hand averaged 23.4 points per game in his Rookie Year!

One can argue on the defensive end, but offensively Shaquille >>>>> Dwight.

    Same.

There's a reason why the Orlando Magic had Dwight Howard sitting the last 2-3 minutes of a ball game.

Andrew Bynum on the other hand has made game winners with the Lakers.

I guess I just have a little more respect for a man who.......
.........they widened the lane so he would have to start further away from the basket.
.........they made balls crossing the plane of the backboard out of bounds. Why? Because they used to lob the ball over the backboard toward the rim and there was no way to guard against it with his size and athleticism (NCAA track champion)
.........they made it where you have to release the ball from the free throw line and nobody can cross the line until the ball hits the rim. Why? Because, as the NCAA Broad jump champion, he could take a step back from the free throw line and vertical dunk his free throws. It's why he was such a bad free throw shooter. Never practiced it much when he could dunk them all!!
.........they outlawed the dunk. When it did nothing to slow him down, it was reinstated.

My argument is Shaq played under a set of rules set up to enhance his deficiencies by Stern allowing him to charge on every play and Wilt played under rules set up to limit his athletic dominance of the game. As Wilt once said when someone compared his game to Shaq's, "If I would have been allowed to bowl over my defenders when I played, I would have averaged 60!!"

Going from memory. Point still the same. Shaq's career best games would not add up to one of Wilt's seasons.

Bynum does have better offensive skills than Howard, and at this stage of Howard's career, I expect only marginal improvement from him. But there is no question that Howard is the better overall player and is a perennial DPOY candidate.

A bigger concern with Bynum is his attitude and injury history. A 7-fter with lower body injuries is not a good sign.

Amazing that Bucher on ESPN just referred to the Rockets as the front runner for Dwight. I love Bucher's willingness to flip flop all over the place.

That right there is exactly why a team would need another closer to pair with Dwight in order to be a championship team! Granted, teams should have more than one, but it is especially the case with Howard!

But Dwight Howard just had back surgery.

Tracy McGrady would like to share his opinion on back problems.

Bucher is complete garbage. He should be fired, hell everyone at ESPN should be fired. They suck ass at reporting and their biased mentality is laughable

No, the tears were still flowing. His makeup was running. But maybe he was just crying over having to mention the Rockets as something other than a distant third or "assisting in the trade" entity.
