True and CP3 cares more about winning and could careless about the money or being in a big market, unlike Big Baby Dwight. He will gladly forgoe the extra money he would get from LA to come to the Rockets......
I still am hoping we are facilitators in this deal. I know we can offer more money than others, but I for some reason, still just don't think he ends up back here after one season. I would much rather get Bynum, sign him long-term and give up less to get him in the trade. Granted, I realize that will make the Lakers a power team, but Gasol, Bryant and Nash aren't getting younger. In two years, they would be Magic West with Howard.
If the Rockets really believe that they can get CP3 to play with Dwight then maybe its a good trade but if they don't pull off a Cp3 and Diva Howard walks, its on his ass.
Chris Paul isn't coming here. We need to start looking into more realistic options for PG in the next 2 years. Any ideas?
^ This. If Dwight's camp doesn't name a new desired destination.. Then no one would be able to beat our offer as we have all the tools to satisfy a rebuilding team. Future Picks Young Prospects Cap Relief (a team willing absorb their bad player's contracts) There are only a few teams capable of giving Orlando all of the above. Let alone doing so one a possible 1 year gamble.
There's no link up for the Dan Patrick show, but this is Woj on CBS sports yesterday saying Rockets is the most logical choice because of draft picks and young players Rockets can offer. Speaks of Jeremy Lamb () and Patrick Patterson. Also mentions it's better to receive draft picks from Rockets than Nets because if Howard goes to the Nets the picks would be late in the first round. (Big 3) "Houston is in the best position" http://newyork.cbslocal.com/?podcas...t=Joe+and+Evan&station_id=91&tag=&dcid=CBS.NY
David Stern has ordered Dan Patrick to NOT upload that episode up on podcast due to "basketball reasons"... that "reason" being the ROCKETS! David Stern strikes again!
I think that's the key. Orlando is trying to find a way to dump those bad contracts. If Morey were willing to take all of them, this would already be done. If they can't get other teams involved to spread those contracts around, Orlando will just have to accept Morey's current offer. I don't think Morey is the one still negotiating.
If he mentioned Houston, we would have to give up more. Morey would have to throw in his daughter's virginity..... Not to be exercised until she is 18....
Good stuff undercoverup. Interesting about Paul. I wonder if this is the reason for our current roster positioning, i.e. no PGs, and tons of forwards. Similar to Howard, I don't see CP3 leaving money on the table, so it would likely have to be a SnT before the trade deadline. If we can find a way to hold onto Parsons, DMo, and Patterson, we would be set. Resigning Martin in 2013 (after hes traded to Magic) would make good sense too, since you can cover up his defense with Paul, Parsons, and Howard. Or you could just match whatever offer Lee gets. So, is this enough to get both? Lamb White Jones Morris Toronto 1st Dallas 1st Martin expiring NYK 2014 2nd NYK 2015 2nd Taking on "bad" contracts. Probably not, but it's worth a try. CP3 / Duhon Lee (or Martin)/ J Rich Parsons / ?? Patterson / DMo Howard / Jordon
Its cause Dan Patrick and his staff are on vacation and he's having guest hosts fill in. They usually update the podcasts right after each hour of the show on their website or on iTunes. ...but did anyone find another place to find the podcasts?
Oh you have no idea how much more complicated the Nets trade deal was. I think it was supposed to be a 3 or 4 team deal. But it's irrelevant now witht he signing of Lopez. Anyway, a Dwight trade to Houston would mean we have to absorb one if not some of their bad contracts (Jrich,Hedo,Duhon). That's why we have to wait for those offer sheets to be matched to further initiate a trade for D12. Can't go into specifics since salary cap details aint my cup of tea. Lets just wait for someone like Bima to enlighten us regarding those offer sheets in relation to a Dwight trade.
I know it's not his fault and things are changing every couple of hours, but on Monday I heard him on 1560 saying that the Rockets were a long long shot (essentially out). It's good to hear this stuff. Regardless of what you feel about the trade, I think we will all be more productive people once this is over with. But why should we believe anything until its done?
