There is a reason he didn't sign an extension this summer.

Maybe we don't have a shot at Paul though, but Josh Smith is very attainable.

The Rockets are getting Dwight or they are facilitating a Dwight deal.

Either way, the Rockets are key to any deal getting done. I personally think the Rockets should look at other options of teams Dwight would want to go to that they could help facilitate the deal. Its obvious that they are still key on getting Dwight for themselves, but its just my opinion if I was Morey. Regardless....

Its their gamble to make based on their own risk assesments, but IMO its much more of a risk of bringing Dwight in next season, him not being able to play due to injury, and the Rockets potentially having to sign and trade him for 2 cents on a dollar as a best case sign and trade with Brooklyn.

Worst case scenario they end up with Brook Lopez on a max deal after February because thats all they could get in a Dwight flip. Or Dwight opens up to signing long term with another team like the Clippers and the Rockets are able to get something from them not named Blake or Chris Paul.

Woj is right though that the Rockets are the best trade partner right now. Its going to be interesting to see what now comes from Dwights camp since they can no longer get him to the Nets without him being traded somewhere else for at least half of a season. Is he going to give Orlando 2 or 3 more options where he would sign long term, and would the Rockets still fit into the trade equation afterwards?

If Dwight does not open up on other teams he would like to go to, then you take Houstons offer which would probably be 3 young players of your choice, 2+ 1st round picks (Toronto & Dallas'), and have them take either Jason Richardson + Duhon's contract or Hedo Turkaglo's contract. Without Dwight expanding his horizons to other teams thats the best deal your going to get in a straight up Dwight deal under the circumstances in this market and in NO WAY should Morey pay more than that.

Do you think the Clippers are a better team right now than last season? I don't.

Let me ask you guys this. What is your reason for getting Dwight here? You guys know were going to be Magic West if we do get him! It makes no sense to trade for this baby. Ppl are saying let's get Dwight and when we can't resign him we will just tank but aren't we already tanking now by trading players (only 4 players who played significant minutes on this team is still here) and getting picks. So why not just take your lumps this year and you will be able to go out and sign players cause you have cap space. I don't wanna be Magic West

LET THEM GROW, I'm tired of this crap man

He's not gonna resign here.....stop this fair weather love affair

Not to mention they're the Clippers. You can customize a VW Beetle all you want, and it might look pretty good and go pretty fast, but underneath it all, it's still a bug. That's the Clippers as long as Donald Sterling is the owner: They'll get a big player now and then and maybe make the playoffs, but it'll never last longer than a year or two before things fall apart again.

I wonder what would happen to clutchfans if he mentions Houston as one of his new desired destinations..

Correct. Because by waiting until after the contract expires he can sign a five year deal with Clippers for more money than the three year extension.

I don't get any of this!!! We don't have enough room to get a deal done right now but the Nets were still a possiblity? I'm too confused ima just give up till I see some breaking news.

How's Chauncey? Which Crawford did they sign?

Yes, likely better. Better still if they had an NBA coach (and FO). Sterling does have the sterling capability to have things blow up in his face.

And? Isn't that the point? We're trading every valuable piece that we have.. rookies, draft picks, cap relief everything we have for the best center in the league who, by the way, doesn't have any intentions of staying with us past this coming season. We're swinging for the fences... dreaming.. It's balls to the walls and hold nothing back.
