When you hear the name Australia, what thoughts come to mind?

Is it the classic 'throw a shrimp on the barbie?'

    Kangaroos?

    ....as pets?

    Our deadly spiders?

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Our massive snakes?

    Rugby / Rugby League?

    Our fine basketballers?

    [IMG][IMG]

    Or our war cry of...

Your thoughts on this Great Land Down Under!

I've visited Australia, so I have a lot of memories from that trip, but to the average American over about 30, Crocodile Dundee is probably one of the main things that pops into mind.

Plus Elaine on Seinfeld saying "the dingo ate your baby"

I think of unstable federal leadership, two speed economies and fat slag radio hosts. ;)

    Dumb, drunk, and racist.

And this is coming from an Aussie.

But I love it in Australia- wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I'm going to Uluru, where the dingo ate the baby, in 3 weeks, and also taking my daughter to The Gold Coast theme parks next week.

Sadly, my first thoughts of any country are what beers I enjoy from there, then everything else....

It's an Aussie saying, when someone does something wrong they 'get a boot up the arse' (sorry for the vulgar language).

Sort of like the American version, opening a can of whoop a$$.

    :)
