Rockets have the most assets... and can take the most of orlando bad contracts

Unless orlando wants a 1 year Bynum rental (unlikely as same situation as howard again) we are number one trading partner by far.

    Howard
    JRichardson
    Duhon

I think we take these 3

    for

    Martin and future picks.

Anyone know what Dwight Howards max contract would be, if he signed with the Rockets?

And for those wondering if we can simply sign Scola after we've amnestied him, consider this:

Amnesty players are strictly prohibited from re-signing with the team that released them for the life of the terminated contract.

If we amnesty Scola, he's gone, and we have to pay the remainder of his contract.

+1. I agree as well... Rudy Gay over Boozer.

This exactly. I don't understand this strong attachment to players. As good a guy as Scola is, this mentality of "sticking with the good guys" will get us nowhere.

I remember feeling the same way about people that were unreasonably upset in letting Landry go through trade...

Because Howard > B.Griffin... Sure our team depth would not be as good as the Clippers, but who (in their right mind) would NOT want to play with D.Howard and C.Paul in Houston, if this indeed happened?

I would rather have Bynum to be honest with you. Isn't Howard expected to miss half of this upcoming season anyway? So we give up most of our assets and take on some ****ty contracts for a guy who may only play half a season and then bolt?

But as others have said, I know it looks troubling on the surface but there has got to be some plusses for us (other than getting Howard). I don't mind getting Jason Richardson back but I am not crazy about Duhon and especially don't want Alfred E. Neumann, er Turkoglu. And I definitely don't want to give up Royce White...that kid is a beast!

I think this has to do with wanting to retain Martin as a possible backcourt mate of Dwight's and remember he's an expiring contract. Martin may be Monta Ellis bait.

Well if you think about it...

If he won't walk away from 58 million, then why doesn't Orlando keep him?

I mean they know him a lot better then any of us, or even the Rockets do...

I would think that out of everybody, they would be the ones to know that he wouldn't walk away from 58 million, right!?

Or he could consider that there is no state income tax in Texas...and that alone would save him millions of dollars.

If he comes to Houston, he's not going anywhere.

You know, if you give me enough Boozer I might be convinced to go Gay as well...
