All I have to say is, I'm 100% sure Morey has thought about the risks in doing this deal and you are naive if you doubt his ability to assess the situation. He isn't going through this ideal with safety measures.

**** that. I was down with taking the risk of him walking for some young pieces, but if we have to take back 3 contracts.

So the Lakers take no bad contacts, and get rid of Gasol's bad contract which the Magic have absolutely no want or need for.

    Unlikely.

The number of bad contracts I'm willing to take on depends on how many picks/prospects they want, and which ones.

lol @ anybody pumping the brakes. Morey will take on as much garbage as needed to get a top 5 player. He is very confident that he can figure everything else after he gets his star.

    Hennigan: Take Turk

    Morey:

Thank you sir may I have another!

    Hennigan: Here's Richardson as well.

    Morey:

    Hennigan: Duhon too.

No. And a team under the cap will put in a bid regardless. Count on it. Mavs?

But he is a proffesional and knows this is a business. Plus I think he would be very happy in San Antonio with his buddies Manu and Tiago.

Couldn't we take on the contracts and keep Scola and just pay hella luxury tax? Scola would have a great year next to Dwight and then we can trade him. Let's see how bad Les wants it, it'll also show Dwight that he has an owner willing to spend to win.

Amnesty Luis Scola? What an incredibly stupid idea. He's a valuable player on a contract that reflects that value. The only reason this "move" would even be considered would be due to time constraints. Otherwise, why not trade him? Surely Morey and Alexander won't be that stupid.

Apparently, either someone has an active imagination (most likely) and this won't occur, or idiocy runs rampant at the top of the franchise.

It's not even a sure thing that he will be ready to play at the start of this season. We will pretty much be back to having an awesome center.....on the bench.

agree. who in their right mind would do Dwight + 3 crappy contracts and become Magic 2.0? Why oh why would anyone do that, especially with no long-term deal in place for Dwight?

F that. Go with the rookies who want to play and have something to prove if it comes to it. At MOST, I take on one of those contracts. Orlando will already get a fair deal with good draft pics (2 firsts, 2nd), martin (expiring), plus 2 young players or so...

Orlando is out of options. They can either keep the cancer Dwight on their team until Jan. 15th or rebuild now. Houston offers the best option by far.

Scola is probably considered a "bad contract" by most GM's.

Morey got rid of a freakin crippled T-Mac, why can't you people believe he can get rid of 1-2 bad contracts? There are plenty of stupid teams to take these contracts if ever we get them.

    Dido..

I hope morey don't bent over to get it from behind. Not allot of teams that can trade with them so we should not give up allot.

If Scola is standing in the way of the Dwight Howard to Houston train, then his a** is getting amnestied quicker than you can say "he look ok".

Despite what we think, Scola isn't a super tradeable commodity.

For my part, I'd rather see the Rockets wind up with Bynum rather than Howard. Both are injury prone, but Byrum IMO is less of a prima donna.

As for Scola, here is my off the wall question. If amnestied, can the Rockets reacquire him on a lesser contract? If so, Scola gets a raise, the Rockets have more cap space, and we Scola fans are appeased.

If we took those 3 contracts on wouldn't we be in the same position as the magic with no room to sign anyone else? I imagine morey wants to have enough room to make an offer to Paul next season. Is that situation even possible?

Beggers can't be choosers. Take Dwight and those bad contracts and run.
