They aren't. They will be at like 59 mil in salaries once those deals are finalized.
But until then, they still have a ton of cap they can use. Which I suppose they intend to do, judging by this move.

man if the pacers had landed OJ Mayo for McRoberts 2 years ago and it had gone through instead of being last minute I think they beat the heat last year.....either way George Hill proved in the playoffs hes the PG of the future and with Paul George at the two.....barbosa was tremendous off the bench but you can't have 2 low FG % shooting guards coming off the bench with barbosa and collision.

I remember when Collison was a free agent he was highly coveted. Also remember how he would really improve the Pacers when he signed there. Lol.

Collison hasn't been a free agent yet. You must think of when he was being shopped by the Hornets.

Would have loved to see Kings take on Collsion. Collsion and Thornton back-court was deadly and ruthless in that period when CP3 was injured.

This cements Hill as the starter and Barbosa off the bench, both were more effective than Collison anyway. At least now the Pacers have a backup for Hibbert, which is more important than a 3rd string backup point.

Would've been nice if we ditched one of our plethora of PF's for Collision.

well, he was better than TJ Ford and AJ Price. So he did improve the Pacers. They got to the playoffs.

But when George Hill was traded there, he became redundant.
Him and George Hill are too similar.
You don't need two point guards with below average decision making, SG mentality and poor shot creation.
And George Hill is longer, stronger, taller, just better overall defensively and has better attitude.

Ideally, now they get someone who can create a shot for himself or teammates. Anyone from Nash-like to Monta-like, really. That's their major flaw.

I hope so. Sessions is actually my #1 choice out of available PG's for the Rockets right now.

I'm not a Mav's fan by any means, but Cuban and company are getting things done that will allow them to have capspace for 2013. I also saw a rumor floating around on Twitter that they look to sign OJ Mayo. Say what you will but I don't see them trying to tank at all. Now if they can unload Marion's contract at the deadline, they're in serious business come next offseason.

Just for fun, who's the best young PF you would've given for Collison?

I like both players a lot/ I'm a fan of Augustin and wished the grizzlies had went after him.

Hansbrough was odd man out but I still think he has tremendous heart and plays with an edge. He makes plays.
