Nah, that's probably Miami's new center. Maybe Brooklyn's.

A team with cap room (even a minimal amount of it) can make a claim on him, precluding him going to these above-the-cap teams.

That's true. Think someone will make a claim for him? I don't know.

    Haywood here? Pass.

I think someone will. He's worth at least $2M a year for 3 years, no? And you can trade him after one full year, so I'd imagine someone will make a claim on him just to use him as a backup C and an asset.

Problem is you won't find a great backup center with Brendan Haywood. He is trending downward and will be 33. He's a space eater, I'll give you that.

If I knew Howard or Bynum was coming, and that Asik was getting matched, then no problem, but with those two things in limbo, I'll pass.

From what ive read Chicago is picking up Omer...so id say after thats official we might as well for vet minimum...no more than that tho...worth the risk for a big 7 footer...might be a little partial cause he is a tar heel tho lol

At 3 mil per year, that is a great deal for a backup center. A big man who can play defense at that price is hard to find.

I find myself in agreement with u a lot lately and that's cool. I think for 2m its well worth it. He's 31 or so and 7 ft. I would pay him and darko 2m a piece and let them split the minutes at the 5.

I don't think the Rockets can even consider taking on additional monies right now. There are reasons Asik and Lin have not been given offer sheets to sign, along with talk of a Scola amnesty.

I agree that Brendan Haywood would be a good quality addition if we pay the minimum $2 million waiver claim for him, 1 year only, no strings attached, no cap damaged for next year. Solid piece for us. If we are rebuilding, he would fit right in. If we get Dwight Howard, he would be a quality 10-15 mpg backup at Center. Don't see much downside in going after him.
