Yeah and I just don't see that happening--him going through the legal procedures to get out of it.

But no, I was talking about back before the deadline, there were reports or I remember hearing that he didn't want the Nets to trade for him because he didn't want them to trade all their assets, they could keep them and he would just sign their outright. Yeaahhhhh!

This is one big circus. OLD. TIRED. Wish it would end already.

That's why it's a last resort for him. Voiding the contract and becoming a free agent is the most palatable thing for him, even if it means walking away from an extra $30 million. He'd rather at least get to choose between Atlanta and Dallas, than have to be forced to play in Houston for a year. Now, if (and most likely when) his appeal gets denied, that's when I'm guessing he'll decide to re-up with Orlando.

C'mon let this end already. Over/under 4.5 days before Dwight gets traded?

Dallas can't sign him. Not near enough cap space now. He also hasn't said anything about wanting to play in Atlanta even though it's his hometown.

I do think there's a real risk he could decide to re-up with Orlando. I don't think it's anything close to a guarantee though. He's probably weighing his options right now.

He can S&T with anybody. Nets/Lakers/Dallas could offer players/picks. They don't have to sign him outright

Orlando has to play ball for that. Why would the situation be any different than it is now?

Him staying with the magic would really insane after all this drama. I look at Dwight as a very unprofessional character.

So if you are Orlando, you decide to keep him, and play the whole thing out. In the end Dwight decides he wants to leave.

    Options
    A) Do you let him go for nothing and sign with a team with cap space? (You lose out on players/picks)
    B) Do you get whatever you can for him?

Didn't the Cavs, as much as Dan Gilbert hated it, do a S&T with Lebron..

    http://www.aolnews.com/2010/07/10/cavs-agree-to-lebron-james-sign-and-trade-for-draft-picks/

The Heat sent Cleveland two first-round draft picks and two second-round picks, as well as a large trade exception, for James.

Brook Lopez got 15.25 million a year for 4 years. And you know Bynum thinks he is better than than Lopez.

DO you as a Rockets fan, really want to pay Bynum more than 15.25 million a year for 5 years? Think about it.

Dwight H will get traded in a few days. LA or Houston ..
His Brooklyn buddies will tell him how Orlando's GM played them when his intentions were never to trade him to the nets .. ( as it seems like )
This will definitely piss Dwight H even more.

After all these sleepless nights, if Dwight re-signs with Orlando just because he doesn't want to come here he should go kill himself.

Bynum IS better than Lopez. He is a superstar player and the second best center in the league. Lopez isn't even a top 15 center.

Given the Nets were already rejected how many times now...they'll have to get creative to acquire him.

Lakers could offer Bynum, but they're basically in the same position again without an extension from Bynum(which he has given no indication that he would re-sign there). Vice versa with LA/Dwight. Lakers also lack the picks/cap-relief-availability.

Dallas? Sure, they could wait for this all to play out and have a chance to sign him in FA next year. That's no guarantee though. See: Williams, Deron ... Trade? Nothing there.

Keeping Dwight WITHOUT a newly signed contract is out of the question for Orlando. That would imply that they turned down MULTIPLE offers for first round picks, young players with high upside, AND the opportunity at getting rid of some bad contracts all for nothing. That will never happen. The only way Dwight stays in a Magic uniform is if he agrees on signing the extension there.

The reason why Orlando is not in a rush is because they feel like the longer they hold out, Dwight will come to the realization that he is getting traded to Houston, and that his only way out of that is to re-up with the Magic. This is their end game. If Dwight decides no, he definitely wants out, then Dwight will be a Rocket before the words have even left his mouth. That's the way I see it anyways.

Lol, Bynum is a much better player and its not even close. So yes, I'd happily pay him 15+ mil a year.

Every time I see your moniker, I think you will post a tweet of some sort (preferably indicating that Dwight has been traded to Houston). :(

I still say he is traded tonight. The Magic aren't happy with the offers on the table, but the offers are going to be considerably worse from now on. Hennigan should know they have to pull the trigger ASAP.
