    Looking at the above list...

Is it possible that Dwight wants out of his contract so he can sign with us without us having to give up a bunch of assets...?

Good point but who would they amnesty? One of their cheap 1 year deal guys? Seems dramatic to use your only amnesty for a guy making $5M. But I guess if it gets you Howard that's worth it...

also if Deron who's from Dallas didn't find it appealing enough to play with an aging Dirk, what makes anyone think Dwight will.

There are 3 Howard possibilities once the season starts:

Magic, Rockets, & Lakers. I was just saying if he somehow got his contract voided, those would be the teams that had enough cap room, or have someone they would be willing to amnesty to get there.

Lakers don't have enough cap room even if they amnesty Gasol.

    Thanks.

So Brooklyn's stuck with Brook 'scared to rebound' Lopez now. haha. And we're still stuck with a bunch of power forwards and two veterans who I can imagine are unhappy,

Why people dislike trading for Howard or Bynum beats me. If we stick to what we have, our summer league roster is going to look like what our season roster would look like... haha.

I remember hearing that about Brooklyn way back when, ha, but to answer your question, no. Not likely.

Brooklyn has no cap space now. It looks like the only not-terrible teams he could sign with in free agency if his contract were voided would be us or maybe Atlanta.

You should've just kept it on the last page lol. If Dwight wanted to be here, you would be seeing reports of that everywhere. The fact of the matter is, he wants nothing to do with us. I'm ok with acquiring him, and seeing where the chips may fall, but that's it. He wants nothing to do with us. He would rather get traded to LA now, or find a place like Dallas or ATL to sign in, which is what he's trying to do now. Orlando I have a feeling is a last resort for him, which, unfortunately, I can actually foresee happening now. The optimist in me wants to say we'll still end up getting him, but I really think the Magic are going to retain him.

so this thing is never gonna end, eh?

edit: i agree that i don't see howard to houston happening... it's painfully obvious that he will do practically anything to avoid coming here.

So I guess there has been no movement since that press conference on the trade front?

    Pachulia.

Since Amnesty only works for guys that were on your roster, they basically have no value with it unless Horford can't recover from injury, since he is the only guy eligible guaranteed beyond this season.

Why would there be any rumor at all about him wanting his contract voided then? It doesn't make sense, given the options available to him, and given it would cost him money to sign as a free agent instead of with bird rights

Those 3 teams are based on the reality that there is a 0% chance Howard gets his contract voided.

He'll either be traded to Lakers/Rockets or stay with the Magic when the season starts.
