I think Bynum is very good, but I am much more careful with the word superstar. I think a superstar is a player who can carry a team to contention without other great players around him. To me there are only 4-5 superstars in the league at a time, and Bynum isn't one of them.

    That's fair.

As I look back historically, I see that you have to have at least a 2nd team all nba guy to win a title. I can't think of a team that didn't have AT LEAST ONE OF THOSE. Bynum puts us in that discussion..and hopefully you're able to piece something around him legit.

    But I'd rather have Howard.

    I agree.

Howard can have no talent around him and his team can still be a playoff team.

I dont think a team with Bynum and not much else can say the same thing. The difference is that Howard is an absolute beast on the defensive end...and the impact that can have is ridiculous.

Bynum is a star and possibly a top 10-12 player in the NBA. That doesnt spell superstar to me. There are only a handful of those in the entire NBA.

Max is one of the worst. I can't imagine how he's skated past disaster for so many years.

If you think think Bynum is a superstar, then you are misguided. He's not even a star. He's a role player.

I've been sleeping with the mods for years now. What? I didn't say that. I don't know what you're talking about. I burned those pictures...I mean, there were no pictures. What?

Seriously? Being a 2 way Center makes him a star by default. Superstar is a stretch, but debatable.

Bynum doesn't get enough touches on the Lakers.

I really do think as the number 1 option he should flourish and become the superstar people have expected him to be for a while now.

Only knock on him is his maturity (which can come with time) but more importantly its his ability to stay on the court & away from injuries.

Rockets have to pull the trigger though if they have the chance. I'd rather have Bynum than Howard because he will be more willing to sign an extension.

The lack of depth at center is the reason for those votes. He's got too much tread on the tire for me. I'd rather just rebuild without a role player with 8 years experience and a history of injuries and a questionable attitude.

Depends on the cost. Obviously I wouldn't give up the same amount I'd give up for Howard...but for the right price, I'd have no objection to adding Bynum to the plan going forward.

Yes.....there are tons of role players who make 2nd team all NBA and average 19/12/2 on 57% shooting and get to the line 6 times a game.

Wait I guess he is a role player. The role of All Star 2nd best center in the league.
