Our summer league team is about to go from sweeping the summer league, to being swept in the summer league.

LA would need us to be involved in a trade.

But we have to worry about teams like the Lakers and Hawks, who have big prizes as well in Bynum and Horford. Orlando may not have leverage, but if Morey is wasting Hennegy's time by offering a couple players and fewer picks, he will turn to other teams who can very well throw together a better offer than Houston's lowball package. It's a tough gamble, but we're talking about Dwight Howard here. Let's just do what it takes to get him in a Rockets uniform and we can go from there.

LOVE the rounders reference, but your quote is a little off.

I agree but we have more leverage now. Look at what LA did to get Gasol! I'm not saying we can "steal" dwight (or Bynum via LAL) but we don't have to sell the farm because Dwight is a top center and thats what "he is worth."

The reality is Orlando messed up by not taking our initial offer pre-draft. Now we know the other offers are garbage. So we hold the chips. Give them a fair trade but not an unfair one to us. Raptors 1st, Dallas 1st, 2nd Rounder, one of Jones/Patterson/Lamb, Martin or Scola or fillers for salary fillers and take on Turkoglu/Davis/Petterson.

THAT is Fair, but doesn't gut or hurt us long-term. Oh, and if the deal is for Bynum, we give up less and let LAL add some pieces.

I'd take Dwight and just start signing guys off the street.

Rafer, Antoine Walker, AI, Adam Morrsion (Baby Bird), and Penny Hardaway COME ON Down.....

I also dont see what Atlanta has that can be enticing for the Magic...

Horford is due to make 48 million over the next 4 seasons. No way the Magic would want to take that on. They could trade for Josh Smith...but then again, thats an expiring contract, so that wont happen either.

Houston is really the only option if there is a straight up deal between two teams. No reason to overpay when there is no competition.

Because human nature makes you less likely to take that deal since you just saw what you could have had. Orlando y may decide to risk him leaving or wait until the deadline at that point.

You're gonna be there? Look forward to meeting you. I get there Friday morning around 9, Vegas time. I might go hit up Fatburger since my internal clock will be thinking it's lunch time.

Completely agree. By all means, try to get the best value you can, but it's Dwight freaking Howard. You pay what it takes.

    My best guess is:

    Toronto 1st
    Mavs 1st
Our 1st next draft if it falls between 4 and 14 (owed to Hawks if lower)

    Lamb
    White
Their choice of Parsons, Patterson, Morris, or Jones

All the non-guaranteeds plus Scola for salary matching

and we absorb J-Rich with our Lowry TE
