Howard Beck said the Lopez already has another offer on the table right now.. Teams were waiting to see if Nets offered him 5 years but since they didn't it opened the door to other teams.

The thing is, I don't think ORL needs leverage to squeeze Brooklyn. The Nets are perfectly willing to offer everything possibly available already. They don't really care about taking on bad deals since their owner is willing to pay massive tax and they are not gonna have cap space any time soon with or without Dwight and the Orlando "bad contracts." And the rest of the package is pretty much determined as well: Brook Lopez signed to the max and some low picks.

One team that would need some "squeezing" is the Rockets: The Rockets are willing to give up "the farm" for Dwight if you believe the reports, but they still gotta worry about having enough talent, assets and cap room left to build a team around Dwight.

My guess it that it's more likely for Orlando to be squeezing the Rockets than for them to be squeezing the Nets.

As far as the "promise" goes: If Orlando actually intends to fulfill the promise (and assuming one exists), Dwight should have known about it already and we wouldn't have all this recent silliness from his side. He wouldn't even have to declare that he won't stay with Houston. He could just sit back and watch.

It won't stop Cjharlotte from collecting high lottery picks, building the OKC way and they need to use the salary anyway. Salary flexibility won't matter to them because no true max guy is going there.

Is it possible for Orlando to be asking the nets for Deron Williams?

No. Why would the Nets give up Dwill if their goal is to pair Howard and Williams.

they couldn't if they wanted to. It would have to be a sign and trade, but considering he just signed a bird rights deal it can't happen under the CBA.
