Ohh... NOW they are going to resolve it. Thank you so much Mr. Russian mafia billionaire. I know you have been buying your time on whether you really want this Dwight Howard character or not. Glad you are finally going to make your decision....

You disagree because you want Bynum. Doesn't matter what any of us want. What matters is the facts. The facts are we can trump any 3-way deal with the Lakers simply by adding in another player or draft pick to a deal for Dwight. Facts are there is no deal that LA can put together which trumps our combination of picks, young players, and cap relief that Orlando needs for a rebuild. Fact is Bynum is an expiring contract just like Dwight. Orlando has the same problem if they trade for him. Fact is Bynum is not going to sign an extension for 3 years when he can sign a 5-year birds rights deal at the end of next season just like Dwight can. Fact is Brooklyn has zero assets to assist Orlando in a rebuild. Fact is Atlanta is in the East where Orlando does not want to deal, and the best offer they can put on the table is a good but not great big man that want to play PF instead of center (Horford) who is not nearly as good as Dwight but is earning a mega salary and a mediocre to poor first round draft pick from our team if we miss the lotttery in 2013.

And here's the last fact: NO OTHER TEAM IS STEPPING UP WITH AN OFFER FOR DWIGHT. Because they aren't going to take the risk of keeping him and they can't give Orlando what the Houston Rockets can give Orlando.

    Those are the facts...........ma'am.

I know I'm putting the cart before the horse, but did anybody else have a dream about a Dwight Howard/Motiejunas Twin Towers combo?

I wonder if he KNOWS something to make him say that...or if it's just his bias or something showing.

He risks looking absolutely stupid if it does happen today or in the next week.

It's down to this...he either signs an extension in ORL or he is traded to Houston.

I don't believe this is the case. With the Lowry trade, our Toronto pick instantly becomes the most valuable commodity outside Bynum. And if Bynum will re-sign with Orlando, that trumps almost any offer the Rockets can put out there. The Rockets don't need a comparable offer to Bynum, they just need to offer more than the Nets, which everyone outside NJ admit is a pile of crap.

Basically, if Orlando can get Bynum, they'll ignore any amount of Houston players/picks because we can't compete with the 2nd best center in the NBA. However, if Bynum is not available, then no other team can offer a sure-fire lottery pick, which is the next most desirable part for Orlando.

IMO, the only thing holding up the deal where we get Howard, is that Morey is not giving away everything. My guess? Toronto's first, Dallas 1st, Scola and/or Martin + gazillion non-guarantedd contracts for salaries, and Orlando's choice of one prospect. Probably Lamb or White or DMo, but presumably only one unless we offer less picks. I don't know which contract between Hedo and Richardson Morey wants, but we take one along with Duhon(need a PG anyway).

I think Morey is already thinking of what it takes to get secondary stars if we get Howard. Because if we don't surround Howard with a decent group of casts this year, he just might bolt even for less money. We need at least a 50-win team next year.

That is a fact right now.

But here's the counter fact: Dwight changes his mind frequently.

And he's going to have a choice to make today. Either change his mind and sign an extension in ORL or be traded to Houston.

aren't you the one basing all of your analysis on information from ESPN?

weren't you just spouting similar crap yesterday about how you guaranteed Howard was going to Brooklyn?

just because you repeat your opinions over and over again...it doesn't make them any more logical

^^^To add to my previous post, the Rockets may not decide to get more pieces to surround Dwight Howard with. They might choose the other direction, which is clear enough money to make a run at CP3 next year. In which case, none of Magic's crappy contracts that they want to rid themselves of. In that situation, Morey probably will be willing to give up more young talent, but will tell Orlando that they can keep their bad contracts.

Not at all. It's just obvious that you really don't know what you're talking about.

I would much rather keep our draftees, actually. I am down with getting Bynum because he is not out to deliberately destroy my team like that clown Howard would by leaving.
Yes, thats right, i am a fan of my team. Not some diva star(who can't shoot).

I think signing an extension in Orlando is out the window. My concern is DeVos pushing the Brooklyn option out of respect for Howard's wishes and his time with the organization. But it would be complete lunacy on his part, so I know the odds are slim.

Good point. But, do you really want to deal with that drama for the next year? I really don't.

I am almost positive, that if we traded for Bynum, he would resign here for the max. Howard has said no way he will do that, I would rather not take that gamble.
