The problem with Wojo, although I guess it's a problem shared by all journalists, is that teams only tell him the surface, but never the "truth." I don't doubt that that Orlando has had detailed discussions with the Nets and other teams regarding a Howard/Lopez swap. But how sincere were the Magic? How much actual discussions were made with the Cavs? How easily were the Nets able to dump Humphries to a 3rd team? Given the sheer volume of discussions that happen everyday among NBA GMs at this time, it's safe to say that even if someone reports what's technically correct, it may actually be entirely worthless or misleading in the grand scheme of things.

IMO, you always need some common sense to go along with these reports. Similar to interpreting player stats with some perspective on how these stats were produced. Because "sources" would never tell a journalist the actual grand plan of their teams. They would tell you what's happening, but that may or may not actually be important.

Until any source actually states "Team X and Team Y have agreed to the following trade blah blah blah," I personally take any kind of inside info with a truckload of salt.

 

He might always run his mouth about "cap space", "pursing a superstar", and "moving up in the draft" but if you follow the moves the Rockets make they typically come right out of left field until they are a done deal. The Rockets do a very good job of keeping trades, and their draft selections quiet.

 

I can tell you almost exactly what the Nets are offering Orlando for Dwight Howard.

Can you tell me exactly what the Rockets are offering for Dwight Howard? For that matter, can you tell me what the Rockets offered Denver for Melo? Or Toronto for Bosh in a S&T? Or Utah for DWill?

 

Lin was matched, and from what i'm hearing asik was matched also.

Nothing is offical but I've only heard About Lin being matched for sure. Bulls havent said a word.

 

Isnt he Addidas? They are among the group that wanted him in NY/LA. Perhaps he is waiting to see what they say before he comments publicly on this? Then again, maybe his agent just told him -- "You cant speak to anyone in the media until I say you can?
