I think Morey just trolled the Knicks. Lin would boost Rockets Asian market.Which would be perfect since allstar game will be here this year. No doubt starting PG for west with billions of vote.lol Also, well have games on national TV. Morey should've went all Lin. Great marketing even tho rebuilding. Les would've loved that.

The deal was essentially the same they offered Dragic but Dragic wanted the player option instead of the team option that's in Lin's deal.

Lin's deal is a 4 year deal but with the last a team option and back loaded for the last two. 5-5-9-9. Goran's would have been 7.5-7.5-7.5-7.5. All guaranteed because of the player option.

Dear God I truly hope that's not the case. If that was the contract that Morey offered Lin, then he really didn't want to get Lin as for sure the Knicks would match that. It now becomes a facade, faking an effort to "make things happen".

Maybe even leaked phony story of the contract being 4 years at 30 mill.

The consequences would be enormous. If this is the case it sure would solidify the penny pincher, miser label attatched to Morey. It would also be a continuing explaination as to why suddenly no FA gives Houston a parting thought anymore.

    Hope this is false.

Well teams over the luxary tax limit by $4Mil cannot do sign and trades under the new CBA. So with the Nets almost there, the Lakers there, if NY matches Lin with Kidd they will be there in two years, Miami is there and if Chicago matches Asik they will be there in 2 or 3 years.
Maybe Morey's looking long term and taking the major markets out of sign and trades. Without the major markets able to do sign and trades it stops the stars from demanding to be traded there.

What time does the NBA office open for business? I'd guess the Rockets would wait for the Toronto and Knicks trades to be passed, made official before they send in their Lin offer?

Question. Why isn't this thread stickied like the Omer Asik one? Exact same situation no?

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but I just read the Knicks have matched Lin's offer via @Hoopshype on Twitter.

We probably won't have max room next year if we acquire Dwight.

Wow, Morey playing nasty games here, making Lin believe what the Rockets have told him, that the Knicks weren't as interested as they are.

Although the Knicks followed Morey's policy of making RFA's find their own market value.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing Lin is dumb enough to be upset about this. I give him a lot more credit than that.

This is just ridiculous if that's the only reason Goran is not a Rocket. It's almost like the Rockets main goal in life is to have absolutely no guaranteed contracts by the time 2015 rolls around.
