We should post all stories where HPD does good....Wait that would flood the the forum.

Houston is the 4th largest city in the country with one of the highest crime rates in the country they're going to mess up unfortunately those handful incidents will steal all the news.

The hate for HPD that some have in the city is just sad

I'm confused, how is this person holding a gun with no arms?

That was a few years ago and it was the Bellaire PD in that case (Bobby Tolan Junior was the victim - he survived the shot). Officer cleared at trial.

Yes, I'm sure it's that cut and dry.

Hell, why even have a trial?

Without cops there would be drunk drivers everywhere, people stealing/killing others becoming a more common thing, and your trying to tell me they shot an unarmed man for no reason? Yeah right. There was a reason, he obviously showed a form of aggression that the officer felt was threatening. I'd rather this happen then there be no cops at all.

Yes without cops who would make sure that we made a complete stop at a stop sign or search me every time I get pulled over eventhough I have never had anything on me and I have never gotten a ticket?? Who would give people tickets for parking 6 inches or more from the curb? I think the best job they do is traffic control when lights are out or at events. They think they can disobey the driving laws without any consequence and that is sad. They speed by without lights on and turn on thier lights to get through a light and then turn them off. Never there when ya need them but always there when ya dont. I think the biggest problem is really just too many cops. They dont have enough to do and it makes them all look bad. There are some really good and decent cops and then there is the rest. People get frustrated cause it is thier word vs the cops. I had a friend killed by cops. He was tasered and then shot. One of the nicest guys I have ever met. Not saying he didnt screw up but he didnt have a gun on him. Why the need to taser and shoot???
