Imagine if Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol consistently got fed the ball, maybe the Lakers might have actually made the Finals. Kobe trying to go mono-e-mono with Durant lost them that series( he also choked 2 games away by himself down the strecth)

Kobe's biggest problem is understanding that he is NOT the best option for them to win games anymore. But this is his 16th season, and i dont think its gonna change

Bring in Bynum, and let Dwight Howard get upset about Kobe not giving him the ball( because you know thats gonna happen as well). Kobe wants to shotjack his way to Kareem scoring record, he could care less about winning a ring. He would much rather win a ring while shotjacking( like he did in 2009, and 2010).

Some of those knee injuries were fluke injuries, invoving Kobe(like Rubio this year)

The same thing can be said about Yao and Matt Schaub. Media members and fans alike seldom consider how these injuries occur but only that these players were injured. I believe "injury prone" is misnomered or overly misused.

Regardless of how Bynam was injured, the fact remains that he Did get hurt plenty. These injuries take a toll on your body, often times leaving long lingering effects.

both have red flags (injuries/attitude), but at least bynum is willing to sign an extension here. i don't want to sell the farm for a 1 year rental.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Rockets remain strongly engaged w/ Orlando in direct talks for Dwight Howard, sources tell Y! They've spent little time on 3-way scenarios.

Totally agree. Bynum would not make the rockets a playoff team and they would probably be giving up too much. If they can't get howard, they should go ahead with plan B which is rebuild. :(

Bynum for sure though Morey wants Howard. If we get Bynum though, LA needs to take on J-Rich and another bad contract and we give out maximum of 3 players from this and last year's draft.

It's not that simple. Bynum and Gasol aren't always as assertive as they should be. They get the ball sometimes and just waste the shot clock and then kick it out and force another teammate to take a desperation shot. Them not getting fed the ball was a combination of Kobe being selfish and them not being assertive enough. Also, Nash will be doing the ball handling this year so things will run through Kobe a lot less.

Thing with Dwight is that once his athleticism fades away due to age, he's basically got what?

What does he have to fall back on? Post moves? Jumpers? He can't even fall back on free throw shooting.

Bynum is more of the complete package, with some Hakeem and Jabbar esque moves. Check out his post moves alone, they're light years ahead of Dwight:

Even Shaquille O'Neal has a way better post move game than Dwight's ever had, and that's the sad truth.

I respectfully disagree. Check his injury history. Bynum has had his issues with injuries. He's also a headcase and the rockets would probably give up way too much to get him. He would not make the rockets a playoff team alone. Morey better have some other deals if this goes thru. I will be surprised if it does.

Not the best example but there was a reason why Vin Baker had a much longer career than Shawn Kemp after both were traded for each other. You get the drift.

Like former Cubs SP Mark Prior and his elbow/shoulder, Bynum apparently has congenital ligamentous laxity of the knees, which predisposes him to knee injuries. I'm not opposed to trading for him, but to dismiss his injury history as a series of freak accidents is a bit dishonest.

He's been trying to integrate a post move since 2008 at age 22.

Whatever happens I'll be glad if we can land either one of these guys.

    That's the real end game.

I respectfully disagree as well. I have checked his injury history. Please see this post regarding his major injuries:

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=7012721&postcount=1088

He's never had a major injury at this level as a result of normal basetball plays or wear and tear like Yao Ming and Greg Oden.

Him being a headcase is overblown as well. Another thing that people don't know about Bynum is how tough he is. For example, he played the entire 2010 post-season with a torn meniscus and strained achilles as the Lakers repeated as champs. As a focal point, he's a superstar. People want a star, but then they get all picky and choosey on which star they want.

Good. No way they should settle for Bynum. Its Dwight or bust. Either I'm fine with but if its all for Bynum, I'll be furious.
