This would be a great great (albeit about week and a half late) birthday present if I woke up to this news!

Does it make me a bad Rockets Fan, if i preferred Morey to trade Marcus Morris, LLul,and D-Mo.. instead of Lamb, White, T.Jones, Patterson

If we acquire DH and worst case scenario comes true and he decides to bolt at the end of the season would it be possible to flip him for Bynum in a double sign and trade? Could this be why Morey is (according to the last Woj tweet at least) not leaning toward the 3 way deal?

I very well may wallow in a vat of beer to numb the pain if that's the case.

NO only D MO to my knowledge...the 3 rookies we just drafted haven't signed any contracts yet

The media spin is making it out like the Magic told the Rockets and everyone else that they aren't good enough, negotiated with NJ, but when they couldn't get the Jersey deal done, came back to the Rockets as plan B.

I honestly believe the reality is that Orlando thought the Rockets was desperate, wanted picks, youngsters, AND force us to take their crappy contracts. Morey told them to go screw themselves. So Orlando let it out that they didn't like our stuff enough. They then spend a few days hyping up in the media about how the NJ deal is close to being done over and over. When Morey didn't blink in desperation to call Hennigan during that time, they now have to negotiate with us in earnest.

The lack of 3-way discussions probably either means that the Lakers aren't interested without Dwight's approval, or that the Rockets just feel like rolling the dice with Howard.

This is absolutely correct. He can still play and his contract could be much worse. He'd be valuable in backing up Kobe as well.

i dont think doing a sign and trade the player gets the extra year, so if he left for atlanta there is no incentive for him to do so.

Interesting thought... I was thinking we might try to trade him next year at the deadline (depending on how the season is going) if it looks like he wouldn't be re-signing.

Although, is there some restriction on not being able to trade a player within a year of something or other? Can't keep track of all the nuances.

Rockets remain strongly engaged w/ Orlando in direct talks for Dwight Howard, sources tell Y! They've spent little time on 3-way scenarios.
