I'm sure the Bynum story is something Morey has leaked to get Hennigan to make a move already. We can't wait all summer for Dwight - at some point we have to seriously start figuring out what a Bynum lead team would look like. I'm sure Morey would take Bynum, but not at the price for Dwight and there is a clear preference for Dwight I"m sure.

...Dwight's drama aside - on the court he is a top 3 player and a definite game changer. You have to make him a priority but Orlando is being unrealistic at this point if they think they are going to get a better offer waiting another week or two. Pretty much everyone has showed their hand at this point.

OK... Melo I could see not building around, Deron Williams I'd be on the fence on, but Kevin Love, you'd say NO to?

I would have to disagree... Kevin Love I would prefer over Andrew Bynum at the very least... Maybe that's just me tho?

Bynum, Gasol for Dwight, Scola, and Jrich is too much? That's fair for them. I don't think the magic would be interested in keeping Gasol though. Maybe they can ship him out of there to a team like minny for Pek and expirings.

The Moreytorium literally ended 45 minutes ago, things should get done in a matter of days, IMO.

It's not even just about this year, but also the years going forward: Will you have the flexibility and assets with which to add talent to the roster going forward? I imagine Morey has considered this and set a limit on what he would offer and take back.

Will you have cap room left in to make more offseason moves and inseason additions this season? Will you be able to get a 2nd star in 2013 FA?

For one, they've already gotten Nash. It's done. And they're improving with him, imo. Trading for DH would certainly be a plus, but I don't think the difference is as big as some might think IF they have to give up BOTH Bynum and Gasol, even if they get back a PF. Part of the Lakers awesomeness has been the strength of their frontcourt. Howard is great, but he can't play C and PF.

For two, if it makes your team better, then you do it.

If you look at their PER, I don't think LA gets too much.

    LA in - Howard: 24.3, J. Richardson: 13.4, Scola: 15.5
    LA out - Bynum: 23.0, Gasol: 20.5

I agree that the longer term prospects are more Important particularly given bynums age.

I just wanted to discuss the upcoming years prospects since we don't know what future rosters willow look like

Took a team with Rafer Alston as their post-season starting point guard, a rookie as their starting two Hedo and Lewis to the finals...

King's been in Vegas with him all night where he's working out with USA, was wondering when this would finally get done.

Hard to project even for this season: What FAs will be available? How much cap room will the Rockets have? Numerous factors out there.

If LA is dishing out Bynum and Gasol, they shouldnt be getting back more than Howard and Scola.

You cant compare PER numbers...Dwight is a defensive monster compared to Bynum.

And JRich isnt a stud...but he's still a very good role player, specially on a team that has Nash, Kobe, Scola, and Howard.

I did not say I would say no to Kevin Love but I prefer Bynum. Why? because Kevin Love is a fantastic re bounder and a good 3pt shooter but does not have a post game. Bynum has a polished post game and you can always add three point shooters but a 7footer with good post game is way harder to find. Deron Williams is useless without a big man . I would not touch Deron Williams with a ten foot pole if he was the guy we were going to build around. He can make you a playoff team but never championship caliber. At this point the only strike against Bynum is his mental issues. Part of his attitude problems IMO is being in LA with drama queens and Kobe Bryant. Being in Houston would lessen the attention on him and quite possibly calm him down and help him mature.

heh - and how long were you refreshing to sneak that in?

    /on topic

I wonder how many people will have a tinge (or more) of disappointment if we end up with Howard rather than Bynum?

Just hear/read in a couple of places that if Howard is involved in a deal, then we really prefer him over Bynum and that we're also trying straight up talks w/ ORL, no 3rd team involved.

Hold up might also be not wanting Hedo's (and/or maybe Big Baby or JRich's) contracts. Hedo's is by far the worst, and would mess up our cap space for FA next year.

Would Les let Morey amnesty 2 players in back to back years? Scola this, and Hedo/whomever next?

Dammit, I just have the feeling nothing will happen on this roller coaster ride of ups and downs that has been this off-season. Holding out hope though.
