My Democrat rating probably went down because I hold moderate views on abortion, immigration, and drug legalization.
These could only be promoted by third party or more likely libertarian groups; they're really the only ones who benefit from the extra exposure. If a candidate is unpopular with the people or lacks leverage with the majority legislative party, his or her platform won't get passed; Ventura, who could have probably won Reform electoral votes in '00 and '04 had he focused just on governing, learned that quickly enough in Minnesota.
Additionally, iirc, Johnson is Pro-choice while Paul is Pro-life but make it a states decision, and Johnson does not believe an immigrant should have to return home to be eligible for citizenship.
