I just don't think Bynum is really a homerun. I think he's more like a double that reaches third on a throwing error.

Lebron didn't leave 30 mil on the table. He was a sign and trade for a little under the home team max in the old CBA.

He's not my first choice, but if healthy and motivated, he's a top ten player in this league and the second best center. Anytime you can get that, it's a homerun.

And his Nike contract earns him as much money as his NBA contract.

I will be holding the Welcome to Houston Dwight banner with you buddy...I am dying for this trade to happen...people don't understand that players like Howard don't come along very often and when u have a chance to get them, you take the chance and risk...pretty simple I think...

I wouldn't be shocked. Johnson is more valued around the league than people think. If the Nets sweetened it enough with future picks and stuff, it could happen.

Because its their team. For the long term people have to realize the potential good and bad and which one outweighs the other. The more likley scenario to happen. Weighed at about the best we can of the situation everyone is led to believe Howard leave Orlando as a free agent. So that stands to reason if he sent to where he doesnt want to go? Which is not his own team already he has been with years? I have to believe he would make the same decision for Houston unless blown away by the results of being here. Which is also unlikely to happen within one season.

He's definitely an upgrade over what is there now and has been since a healthy Yao...but he's still underwhelming to me when the other possibility is Dwight Howard.

Yep... You always go for Plan "A", Plan "A" being Dwight Howard.

And, as everyone expected it, the whole NJ thing was pure BS in the first place. The fact that the deal relied on telling a player that he should get himself a crappy contract made it fishy in the first place.

Now NJ can truly go to DWill and tell him about how they tried. And Orlando may or may not have scared LA/Houston enough to up their ante. Overall, I think Morey mostly likely didn't budge.

I'm hoping the Dwight deal is completed and agreed upon before 11 p.m. so Morey can place the customary call to DWill to see if he wants to reconsider. Probably won't happen. But it could get crazy.

Whatever. Guys with that size and skill (and age) are never available. Never. LA did all the hard work in developing this 17 yr old kid. The Rockets would reap most of the benefits. The guy just put up 19 and 12 and he's basically an afterthought in the LA offense. Good lord.

At 24 sure, but Yao blossomed a couple years later. We'll see if Bynum has the same work ethic and maturity to do the same.

I'd be happy to have him though.

No kidding...24 years old 7 feet and 19/12/2 blks while shooting 57% and getting to the line 6 times a game. Players like that are pretty much unattainable.
