If Rockets trade Hakeem, Drexler, Maxwell, Casell, Horry and future picks for a 1 year Jordan rental you'd bet i'd complain..

The way this off-season has gone, I'm willing to bet we end up with NEITHER.

True maybe... but the issue isn't the Nets holding out... the Nets just don't have enough to offer.

If we are able to give up less to get Bynum, I say get Bynum.

Toronto pick, 1st rounder next year, Dallas 1st rounder, 2 2nd rounders, Jones and Patterson for Bynum.

    That leaves us with:

PG Douglas / Livingston / Machado (ugh)
    SG Martin / Lamb
    SF Parsons / Morris
PF Scola / White / Montiejunas
    C Bynum / Asik

That right there is a contender for years to come. Once Scola and Martin expire, they are replaced by up and coming players in White/Motie and Lamb, and we would still have MAX cap room to pursue another star. Future would be bright.

    I'm fine with Bynum
But for the Lakers getting Howard for Bynum is very cheap
and the Lakers dont have assets to sweet the offer

So i think, if a 3 way trade is coming, Morey will propose:

    LAL get Howard, Scola, Parsons?
    Hou get Bynum Gasol
ORl get our pics and young players

    will see if i'm right

Just saw Mark Stein on ESPN. He said Bynum is a no-go for ORL since they don't want a repeat of the Howard drama a year from now. So that's where Houston comes in. I think Bynum would actually commit to Houston, whereas D-Ho is one and done.

I want Howard, if for no other reason, the likes of Ric Bucher, Chris Broussard and Jarrod Rudolph eat ****.

Ha, but no, prefer Howard one and Bynum two.

Bynum - on record of saying he likes Houston. Howard is a rental.

Howard by a mile. I don't think Bynum is good enough to be the franchise of a championship team. He's more of a part. I feel like Howard can be the cornerstone.

Bynum is a major headcase. His maturity level is 0 and he is a grade A douchebag. Won't support some jackass that makes it a mission to seriously injure members of the opposing team night in and night out.

Please let this trade happen tonight and it's ironic the baseball all star game is today and if we get Bynum or Howard we will be getting our all star center for the upcoming all star game here in Houston

One minor point regarding Howard and the added cash from resigning a Bird rights player: Last year there was a story about Addidas pushing Howard to NY over Chicago, with the lure of a larger marketing deal. That would apply more so with regard to Houston.

Whether that difference can completely offset the salary issues, I don't know, but it does offset it, at least somewhat. And given how easy it seems to be to influence Dwight, it isn't impossible that someone could convince him that it would actually be financially advantageous to leave the salary money on the table in pursuit of marketing and endorsement riches.
