This line stood out to me the most. Had my doubts, but if Morey and co. feels very confident that they can convince these guys to stay longer, then count me in.

Did Bynum say it in an interview, or was it just from "a source close to the player"? That makes a big difference.

I was just listing a hypothetical #1 where Howard changes his mind. Like Howard would EVER flip flop :p

That's the grand-slam Morey is after. But I think I'll be content with a 2 or 3 run homer at this point. Either way, GET R DONE MARAYY!

They are gonna need to rebuild. So the Rockets have the best package of any team. They will not compete when Howard leaves. Even with Bynum there. So they should do the three team deal and be done with this. Howard goes to the Lakers. We get Bynum. They get rebuilding pieces and cap relief. Everyone wins. Its finally done and Morey gets to have egg in his critics faces. What wont happen is a good hand shake for Morey if Dwight leaves after he gets him. He will be handed a pink slip by Les Alexander if Moreys gamble does not pay off.

    ?

What in the world would make you confident in this organization or any star player willingness to play here?

Disagree here... I don't want Bynum on this team... I would rather gamble with Dwight Howard and him possibly leaving then to lock up Andrew "Temper Tantrum/fist-throwing" Bynum for 5+ years.

Good point. And I'm pretty sure it was a quote he actually said. He wants to play for the "Rockets, Cavs, or Mavs."

I would be willing to give-up alot more for Howard then I would for Bynum.....I hope Morey feels the same. I would have no problem giving up players and picks while taking on a bad contract for Howard but not both for Bynum.

I would give up the picks and say a package of Martin, Morris, Jones, and Patterson for Bynum (no bad contracts).

I would give up the same picks plus a package of Martin, White/Parsons, Jones, and Morris/Patterson for Howard and a 1 bad contract.

There was a story they had us involved in a trade to get him last year and he resigned his last year of the contract just to avoid coming here. If that is true and only Morey knows? Morey should take that as a bad omen if he knows that to be true.

    Most centers are injury-prone.

Just look at the 3 centers mentioned in the Howard talks (Lopez, Howard, Bynum); they've all got injury history.

Bynum??? He averaged 16 and 9 in 37 min a gm in the playoffs!!!

Yeah that sounds like someone deserving a huge contract....

OK, think this through. LAL, BLYN, CHI, and NYK are in bad, bad cap shape. LAC could get under if they lose Paul, but I don't see Dwight joining him there. Those are the main teams we'd have to worry about him bolting to, and none of them can offer him a lot as a FA. Now, some of them might be willing to flush a lot to talent to get under the cap (Gasol for expirings, for example) but we can see that coming.

In other words, most of the teams that Howard would want to go to would have to make a deal for him. If we really, really don't think he'll sign with us, we just trade him for the best package at the deadline, possibly even Bynum.
