I think the 2012 team COULD beat the Dream Team in a single game but not in a best 4 out of 7 format.

if we are talking about at time of olympics (not in their prime), this is wrong.

2012 would be faster, but the size (big, strong, and fast) of the Dream Team would kill them.

True good point. Magic had herpes and Stockton was overrated.

No one disputes any facts on here, you just write fantasies.

"Magic was the best PG of all time"

He hadn't played in over a year and played very very few minutes. Non-factor. Not even part of the rotation.

Bird? Injured as has been discussed over and over again. Again, not a factor.

    Laetner? LoL

    Malone?

Stockton hardly played. He's highly over rated to begin with.

So basically Dream Team was lacking a true point guard. They had Pippen running the point a lot. They basically relied heavily on Mullin, Barkley, Jordan, Ewing and Pippen.

Dream Team shot horribly from outside. Mullin and Barley shot well but that was about it.

Jordan shot really badly and had the second worst FG%

The one advantage the Dream Team had was Ewing.

2012 team has way more experience both playing together and in international play. I mean come on.

No one wants to debate fact though.

"MAgic was better PG" lol so many people on here just have little actual knowledge of the game or what they are talking about. They saw that documentary and that's all these jokers are quoting. That's where they are getting their info. Not from how the Dream team actually played in the Olympics.

I could go on and on but no one wants to debate in a mature way. Too bad, I'm going to leave this horrible forum soon I think. Bad enough that adults on here post like little kids.

newsflash .. 1992 WAS the time of stocktons prime and johnson was a year removed from averaging 18.8 12.2 assists ... he was in no way in a decline and was more impactful than westbrook. Both paul and westbrook were prob better scorers at that point but with so many scoring options at the wings you need pass first point guards and magic and stockton could get the ball to people better in their sleep than the guys do now

also jordan in more of a prime than kobe = done deal

Laettner was the "pressure" pick coming off of national titles

if they went with talent and actually chose Shaq to be on the Dream Team it wouldnt be even close

for the record - I think the 2012 team could be the original squad but like in a best of 7 no way. The original squad co-existed far better than the current squad did.

Having Bird and Magic in the latter stages of their careers was good because they were still very effective but everyone knew that if it ever came down to it in crunch time they were going to Jordan.

I dont see the current squad as willing to defer to Kobe as the original was to jordan

Jordan vs Lebron would have been fun.

I'm going to agree with Kobe.

Barkley alone would pimp slap any members of the current team and they'd all be scared to do anything. Ewing and Robinson got clowned hard by Olajuwon a couple and few years respectively but these 2 guys were the cream of the crop at the center position leading up to that point. They would ABSOLUTELY take turns killing Tyson Chandler in the post.

And as much as we hate Pippen that 92' Pippen would wreak havoc and neutralize Durant and or Bron.
