While I think we definitely could get Bynum to stay long term, I worry that is a deal where the Lakers come out on top. Unless Bynum signs a contract with a Team option.

If true. I hope Bynum can remain healthy as he did this year.

I can't handle another Yao/Tmac injury type worry...

No way. Dwights is a way bigger factor on defense. And has led the league in Reb's 4 of the last 5 years.

So let Dwight win a title in LA and then bolt for Brooklyn. I'm willing to suffer through another Lakers championship if it nets us Bynum.

    Two words: Mike Brown

That team had the best front-court combination in basketball and they still let Kobe put up 23 shots a game. Bynum was getting about 13 (by contrast, Chris Bosh, clearly the third option and an inferior low post player, was getting 14.5 shots per game in Miami). You get someone to teach Bynum to get position (McHale) and up that to 15-17 shots a game and he will be the best center in basketball.

I don't like the guy and his injuries scare me, but at this point I like Howard even less. Get Bynum here and give Morey another year to build around him and things could turn around quickly. We'd obviously need another all-star caliber player to compete but you have to start somewhere.

Lakers would only be good for 1-2 years, after that both Kobe and Nash's legs fall off.

agree...I think Orlando takes that deal since its WAY better than the Nets offer. Our Raptors pick is a guaranteed lottery pic which is better than all the low 20s first rounders the Nets were giving them.

    So:

    LAL: Howard
    HOU: Bynum
ORL: Martin, Jones, Patterson, Raptors pick, dalls pic, 2 pics, + LAL player/pic

Orlando has an expiring, young players with upside and lots of good future pics=way better than injured Lopez + a**trash

You can't give up Motie since he was barely signed and if traded it can not be till December 15th.

How again is a well rounded 2nd best center in the entire league center not going to improve us as a destination for other star caliber players?

People are seriously complaining about this?

New flash...we're not a contender with Dwight Howard anyway! We definitely aren't a contender AFTER we lose him next year.

I don't buy the Bynum to Houston rumors. We want a top 5 talent. We want Dwight. This started with Hoopsworld, which means it started on a forum, most likely here or LakersGround.

Bynum has the ability to get you 25pts and 15rebs EVERY night. I'm sorry bro, but that is more than a role player. Sounds like a cornerstone to me!

As long as we don't have to give up Royce White, I'm fine with this.
