No sports media writer understands the meaning of "imminent" it seems.

At 5 p.m., Magic inclined to take "best deal," aren't entertaining idea of playing hardball to keep Dwight longer to enhance another trade

So I guess if this is true, it'll all be over in the next day or two?

I have a suspicion that if it's not the Nets (and it won't be, unless there's collusion), the Magic and whoever is involved might try and keep this completely under wraps until it's officially the 11th and the deal can actually be submitted. Because if it were to leak now - with six-plus hours to go until the moratorium ends - I think you'd have Fegan and all of Dwight's team in full desperation mode. That is, making every threat in the book at the teams and executives involved and doing everything possible to ruin the deal.

Not that those threats would be successful... but I think it's a whole lot of drama and stress that both sides would rather avoid. So my guess is we have a few more hours to go before anything breaks.

if you put it in perspective, the time table has never changed.

the Magic are forced to wait on the Moratorium to end to make a move, so might as well work every angle in the meantime. I will wait to see Orlando's final score, but from the way they have played the media in all this I have to give the new GM high marks

It could if you keep Dwight and his agent out of the loop and leave it just to the front offices involved. It's the agents who are usually first to leak deals. Honestly, part of me wonders if this was Orlando's motivation behind all the Brooklyn leaks... the hope helps to keep Dwight/Fegan from meddling in Orlando's true business.

I'm sure this question has been answered before. Sorry in advance.

Can teams officially trade players at midnight tonight, or will it be a couple of hours later? Thanks

Single most influential player in the game. Nothing the Rockets have is too much.

If howard is the 'single most influential player in the game" then how come Orlando couldn't win the championship? I think he is a superstar but i don't think he makes you a title contender alone (see: Lebron).

Also, the price for Howard has been set by the Nets garbage. No need to give up our best offer anymore (like from before the draft). Give them the future pics and one of the young players + fillers.
