Lol, what?? If that's the case, why wouldn't Dwight sign with Brooklyn for the league minimum, and have the Russian give him a billion dollars on the side?? Dude....just...no.

Only if that business is Enron. Jesus Christ dude, you must be trolling or you're the least ethical person on this board.

It's because that dip**** Chad Ford works for them and recently wrote this.

Does this imply that they think Atlanta is a bigger draw/would get more hits than mentioning Houston?

Not mad or conspiracy crazy, just curious

So, if ALL Dwight cares about is getting the most money possible out of his contract, why is he leaving Orlando?

If we get Dwight, I hope they shut him down for most, if not all, of the season. Get him healthy and pair him up with a top 10 pick. That, along with the extra money we could offer him should be enough to convince him to stay.

I just hope we don't trade Royce White away to get Howard here.

Because the gap between Dwight's supporting cast in Orlando and potential free-agent options (Atlanta, Dallas) is substantial enough that he might leave, anyway. That shouldn't be the case in Houston. Moreover, his original "desire" to leave was on the condition that he could go to Brooklyn. That may not happen, but Orlando is so sick of it that they're about ready to start over, anyway.

Cause if he doesn't leave Orlando, he's stuck with em. I honestly believe he will sign the extension where ever he is traded, and he doesn't want it in Orlando. And before you respond by saying, well Orlando doesn't have to trade him, they should keep him. Just remember how many bridges he's burned there. Both sides are ready to move on.

He's getting traded...he's under contract. Doesnt matter if he plays for Orlando or Detroit next season, he will make the same amount of money.

    No one said "all".

Odds are greater he will leave a situation he dislikes + 30 million dollars (Orlando) than he will leave a situation he is unfamiliar with + 30 million dollars (Houston).

Is his love of Brooklyn greater than the combination of his love for 30 million dollars + his (supposed) dislike of Houston? We're willing to find out.

Lol, talk about a severe buzzkill for all the fans who want to see Dwight in Rocket Red. I'm pretty sure the marketing dept isn't gonna have any job openings for you.... ;)

Actually to go to Brooklyn it will now cost him a lot more than $30 million. He'd have to sign a MLE type deal with Brooklyn next year if he got traded here and we refused to sign and trade.

If we're trading for a rental, I'd like to see him on the court. I don't think shutting him down and getting a top 10 pick would convince him to stay. IMO the best two ways to convince Dwight to stay would be:

    1: playoff success
    2: trade for supporting talent

Right. Basically Dwight is going to have to live with whatever situation he ends up in, or pay an extraordinary amount of money. Does he love Brooklyn/hate Houston that much? Most people doubt it.

If he's 100% and ready to play, then by all means, go for it. But I'm afraid if he got traded here, he'd use his back as an excuse to miss a significant part of the season.

How much will his Nike deal be worth in New York compared to if he was working in Houston? This Russian guy is pretty slick. They are redesigning their uniforms to sell to every gangmember on the east and west coast. Kind of a Raider motiff. I'm guessing Howard's not really worried about that extra year, which is about all you really get from signing with your bird right team.
