I wish this to get done so I can go back to ignoring the GARM...at least until preseason starts.

Orlando?:) I'm too lazy to do the research but someone will pull a morey because Dwight is going to want the max and I think he will stick to his guns about not playing here. Maybe Boston will want to re-load or the Clippers.

Some new rumblings on the Howard melodrama; NJ (Brooklyn) may be out and LA and Houston in, stay tuned (Yahoo Sports). Check their latest NBA headline.

So Dwight won't turn down the money, but CP3 will, or is that what the smiley face if or? I could see Dwight going to Dallas.

all of the picks we give them will most likely end up being mediocre. Our most promising young talent would pribably be included in the deal. Its not like we are handing them some of the top picks in the draft. Also, with Dwight, the team wouldn't be a contender but they wouldn't be bad enough to get Orlando a valuable pick. Even if we were, I dont see Dwight sitting around while we rebuild.

LA and Houston were always in it. ORL wants LA, but their conditions cannot be met (Howard and Bynum signing extensions with new teams).

Houston was always in it because they have the best rebuilding pieces. We saw this back in March. Houston will be the last team standing again.

I wonder if we post a false rumor whether one of these "journalists" will pick up on it and say "sources say". Should we try??

Which teams will have cap money to sign Dwight to the max? If a true contender (such as the Miami Heat or LA Lakers or OKC Thunder) can offer Dwight the max, he would walk. However, Dwight wont leave all that money on the table if it means going to a mediocre franchise in a random city.

Right, this is the point. Sure, Dwight might walk away from the extra money to go sign a max deal with the Knicks, Lakers, Nets, Heat, maybe Clippers...but those teams won't have cap room to sign him to the max. So they'd need a trade.

Is Dwight going to walk away from the max with Houston and the extra money to go sign with Milwaukee? Sacramento?

The only two teams I could even see in the game are Atlanta and Dallas.

I agree totally. I don't want Howard if we have to give up our rookies this year. Too big a risk for a rental and bad contracts coming back. If all we had to give them were the Toronto pick, dallas pick, and 3 other picks from somewhere plus Martin, Patterson, Morris and the like, I'd take a chance. We can't use up our cap space trade away all our young players for the chance we can resign him

By then, the g*ngbang auditions will be closed in miami and new york.
Dwight would have to go to these teams he once considered inferrior. He'd look good in a Bucks jersey or Wizards. Oh my.
    :p

I'm pretty sure Tommy Dee is an idiot, since he was the writer that started all the Howard-to-Nets bull**** on Sunday. But here's his latest, if anyone cares:

If there ends up being a 3-way involving ORL/LA, I'm guessing the Hawks won't be the third team. The Magic would keep Bynum themselves, imo, if they were interested in a current big man instead of picks/prospects/cap relief.

It's just too big a gamble. Remember we will also getting back toxic contracts, trading away our young assets, and future draft picks so he can sign with Dallas or someone else that figures out how to manuever around the cap. Who expected LA to land Nash? Brooklyn is able to financially find a way to have a big four. Too BIG a gamble. We are sitting pretty now with Toronto's picks, our rookies, and our own lottery pick next year if we do nothing more.

The LA and Brooklyn deals happened because of trades. If the Rockets get Howard they can simply say "No" when it comes to the idea of trading him.

He could still potentially go to another team like Brooklyn if he wants to play for like $3 million. You really only have one big risk in my mind and that is that he goes and signs with Dallas.

Any reason why Dwight would choose Houston over Atlanta or Dallas?
