After all the second-place finishes, I'm guessing there's going to be very little "optimism" from the Rockets' side of things until the ink is dry (and maybe not even then, since league office has to approve ;)).

And why open himself to criticism and redicule if he speculates and gets it wrong? And "wrong" in this case is apt to be the result.

The Orlando Magic are never going to be able to get as much cap space and young talent out of the Rox after tomorrow. Tomorrow is the pinacle of what Morey can give them by aggregating and synergizing the Lowry/Camby trades along with whatever other trades are agreed upon today. Once tomorrow passes, Orlando's max value opportunity with the Rockets goes away.

I feel very strongly a deal for Dwight between ORL and HOU gets done today or it never gets done. Once these moves are made tomorrow, free agent offer sheet signings and Camby/Lowry trades, I think the Rox ship is leaving the station and Morey will shift his focus elsewhere.

Yes, i think we're going to end up facilitating DH to LA, and end up keeping Bynum to ourselves.

I think that's a pretty good take, and why my stomach is growling. I haven't had lunch! Seems like when I leave for a while, something happens. Hell, maybe I should go eat so that it does. ;-)-

He's very different from other guys, in that he only reports facts. The fact is, the Rockets ARE trying. I'm willing to bet the Rockets have told him to back off on the media frenzy because they are quietly trying to get something done, as opposed to Brooklyn, who is using the media as their war horse.

Just to be clear, do they have most of the day tomorrow too to complete the deal or just today. Can't they hold up the paperwork tomorrow to complete negotiations on a Dwight deal?

If they want 5 first round draft picks. How's that gonna jive with the 1 year rental contingency plan?

I don't care about the draft picks if we get to keep all our rookies this year. We can always turn Dwight into draft picks. That being said I would rather take a flyer on Bynum because I think he will re-sign.

That's the question I keep posing to people who assume he's going to walk.

Where will he walk to? And would he really turn down tens of millions of dollars to sign somewhere else?

If Dwight gets traded to Houston, he will remain a Rocket beyond next season...and then CP3 will join us.

The framework needs to be in place by midnight tonight and a commitment to complete the terms and order of things. We have already made commitments to Toronto, NY, Asik, and Lin. So, we've got to take care of those things tomorrow. So the framework of a deal has to be agreed to tonight before the season begins at midnight.

That's the way I see it.
