Spoiler I have no backstory, but a US-Government-Controlled 'Patriot' weapon is a bad guy these days.
Spoiler I assumed Iron Patriot would just be Iron Man... the government is against him so he comes out in USA armor and wins everyones hearts as he defends his country from the attacks of the Mandarin who has access to weapons of mass destruction.
Negative. It won't happen that way from what I've read. Also the person in the suit isn't Stark/RDJ (it's someone who is supposed to be another villain in the movie), and Marvel wouldn't make them the same guy.
Iron Patriot looks dumb as hell. I hope Iron Man 3 is as action-packed as the Avengers. They used him perfectly in that movie. Way more badass than he was in his two independent movies.
Spoiler Iron Man 3 production shot, but no real spoiler material. Nice showcase of the suits: L-R Original Mark-II (Pre-WR) Damaged Mark III Mark IV Briefcase Armor Mark VI Mark VI from Avengers
That's awesome. I never did understand why they switched from the upside down triangle back to the circle in his chest piece on Avengers. I thought the triangle looked better. Also other than the way he put the suit on (and the center piece), I didn't notice a difference in suits.
Nerd time! Mark I Flamethrower, Missile launcher "Jet Jump" Mark II - Stainless Steel Repulsor Flight Head's Up Display (HUD) (Originally unweaponized) Mark III - Gold/Titanium Anti-Tank Missiles Shoulder guns Flare Launchers Mark IV - Tweaked HUD Other differences from Mark III? http://www.aintitcool.com/node/56219 http://www.movieweb.com/news/exclusive-x-men-first-class-sequel-to-introduce-just-one-new-character First Class sequel: hinting at Days of Futures Past storyline. However, I wouldn't expect this to be a very literal translation of the first story. With the series currently set in the 60s, it opens up the possibility of the flashforward taking them to the 90s trilogy timeframe (bringing back familiar faces), or further ahead. Also: I read this as a possible hint that the Days of Future Past story may be melded with the Age of Apocalypse timeline (loosely). If done right, this would be a neat way to go.
Other news: Iron Man 3 Will be introducing/tangling with.... Spoiler ...which is extremely likely to spill over into Captain America 2, which is nearly certain to double as a SHIELD film. In animation news, the current Avengers cartoon is getting axed (unfortunately) to clear the way for a new one that more closely mimics the Film Franchise (probably squashing the larger universe they had successful drawn from). http://www.unleashthefanboy.com/news/new-marvel-tv-show-avengers-assemble-to-be-like-the-movie/14214 Do note the "newest Avenger" - not exacting putting out the rumor fires that he will show up in CA2.
