Not bad... Rockets gave up a 2nd round pick (plus Flynn and Thabeet) and got 2 2nd rounders back for him half a season later with him being an unrestricted FA, too. Came out 1 2nd rounder ahead at least.

Don't know if any of the players are keepers or just salary fillers but probably doesn't matter much.

Those 2nd round picks are handy for getting Euro stash players. A good deal particularly in light of the fact that you can't do what the Rockets did in 2009 anymore (paying a ton of cash to get multiple 2nd rounders) given the new $3M/year spending limit.

    He is more of a 5 than a 4.

THESE types of moves are why we are trying to get a superstar here. Morey can get assemble a roster of quality contributors for virtually nothing.

    He's a C. F/C at worst. But NY wasn't playing him as a 4 last year.

    Attention to details:

    John Hollinger ‏@johnhollinger
Rockets now have six non-guaranteed contracts and Livingston's partial, totalling $7 mil in confederate money to use in trades.

Love this move. Real nice package and to have a players salary paid by another team, brilliant just brilliant.

    Booyow.

And that's why Morey isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

The fate of superstars is highly dependent on luck (see winning Hakeem's coinflip, see Yao's foot falling apart) and timing (see being in the right place at the right time for Tmac, etc).

But guys that can build a solid NBA team from a scrap heap, THOSE guys are hard to come by. Les knows this. That is why Daryl will be given a wide berth to acquire his franchise centerpiece. Because once we finally land one, it is elementary for Morey, unlike most GMs (see all the ringless star players in history).

If we could just land ourselves a star, getting role players would be so easy for Morey.

Another UK player in Harrelson. Morey likes his wildcats.

amazing the assets you can acquire when team needs and short term winning are not an objective
