I am fine with the idea of a super team emerging every now and then. I'm also fine with super teams emerging if players decide to play together for less money. It's the idea that an organization would take a bad deal, worse than other offers, to help put one together because of a player and his agent that sickens me.

The new CBA was supposed to help stop the superteam trend, was it not?

If Stern vetoes the Pau trade and lets this one slide, I may blow a gasket.

Im with you on all this...I think they are blowing smoke up everyone's asses. This has to be a joke or some ploy to get the Rockets/Lakers to increase their offers.

Still waiting for Morey to swoop in at the last second and get something out of this. I think Hennigan's trolling everyone. No way he does this deal. There must be things going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Maybe the agents have too much power.

Stern, I mean the NBA owned the Hornets. So they were technically able to block the trade.

However, if the NBA owned ORL, I doubt they would stop this one.

Proposed Nets-Magic deal: Nets would get Dwight Howard, Jason Richardson, Chris Duhon & Earl Clark

The Clippers would receive MarShon Brooks.

Proposed deal (cont'd): The Cavs get Kris Humprhries in a S&T, Quentin Richardson, Sundiata Gaines, a 1st round pick from the Nets & cash

Proposed deal (cont'd): Magic picks would be: two 1st rd picks from Nets & a lottery protected 1st from the Clippers.

Proposed deal (cont'd): Magic get Brook Lopez in S&T, Luke Walton, Damian James, Sheldon Williams, Armon Johnson and 3 first round picks

the excuse stern used for vetoing the pau trade wasn't to prevent a superteam in LA, it was that the league owned the hornets and they didn't consider the trade in the best financial interest of the hornets long-term (which it wasn't, but still should not have been vetoed due to the conflict of interest there). it is the GMs job to make those decisions, and the GM agreed to the trade.

So they don't even get a pick from the Cavs? LOL

So the only things of value the Magic get for Dwight Howard are a max contract Lopez and 2 picks from what will likely be one of the three best teams in the NBA and a pick that will come from another team likely to be a top 10 team in the NBA. And if for some reason the Clippers suck, oh well, it's lottery protected!

    This is hilarious.

If anyone watched Merlin on BBC America, you'll get this reference.

Hennigan is enchanted by troll magic.

LOL. I feel bad for the Magic GM if that's the deal. That is HORRIBLE! I'd rather trade him for just the Raptor pick that the Rockets have alone.

I'd take 1 guaranteed lotto pick over Lopez (solid, serviceable but will be overpaid), 4 late first round picks (which means guaranteed contracts on players that will likely be out of the league in 3 years), Luke Walton and the rest of that trash.

That proposed trade is terrible for the Magic.

Brooks to the Clippers???--WWE guys, nothing to see here, just David Stern trying to build another super-team in LA.

Turkoglu has a partially guaranteed contract after this season. So the only two real bad contracts the Magic have are Davis and Richardson. A Dwight trade should move both of those guys which doesn't seem like is happening.

Whelp, my sources say the deal is done!

Clippers finally gave in and agreed to send Orlando a box of rubbers so they won't catch anything from Lopez' max deal.

C'mon guys. How many people here really believe this convoluted joke of a deal is going to go through?

Haha. You've been saying no shot for the Nets since the beginning. At least you are consistent. When the deal happens what will you do?
