I agree about the part that there is no longer any player loyalty in Houston. That has been torn to shreds by Morey and company. It may be a business...but damned if I would come play for the Rockets and buy a house trying to settle in....cause you could be gone tomorrow. I think we used to be a team where you could feel like family and be around for a while. But, that is no longer even close to the case. I do think there is something to be said for considering a team you will play for as a stable job and not one where you are constantly worrying about being another pawn in a trade to find a franchise player. If I played for Houston, then I might even just rent a hotel room by the week. lol

Equidistant (basically) from left and right coast - so most coast to coast travel will be done on the court : )

You can buy a mansion for 50 cents on the dollar compared to most major markets.

EGO - you can help build something here thru your doing, YOUR success; instead of trying to coat tail-it to a championship

In shore and off shore Fishing - minutes away

    T-Center is nice complex

    You can watch a Texan's Game : ) !!

    More minutes

    More Glory

The anti-Houston shtick is so dull and unoriginal. It's already being used as troll material by several other posters here on a regular basis and has been for years.

skyline07, please do a little more due diligence before coming up with your material.

This is a stupid thread. Players don't go to cities because they offer something. Has anyone been to Miami? South Beach is a haven for douchebags, tons of crime, on average its hotter than it is here (more hurricanes too), tons of mosquitos, alligators, and with the exception of Cuban food and Bass music not a whole lot of culture either.

Are we losing free agents to teams like Golden State or Portland becuase they are more disirable places to live? In fact, the current guy we're chasing is ready to rebuff LA in favor of Brooklyn. These guys are millionaires that can decide to live anywhere they want (and as a matter of fact many own homes here). Where they rent a home for 6 months out of the year probably plays very little into the decision.

We are having problems attracting players because of our roster pure and simple but it is the exact same problem that every other team that isn't Miami, NY or NJ is having.

unlike a lot of teams in our predicament (clippers, warriors, cavs, nuggets etc) houstons owner has proven to be dedicated to winning (to a fault esp when rebuilding is staring you in the face) How many teams in our situation have won a championship under their current ownership? That puts houston in a unique situation.

It does get old listening to these same douche bags spouting the same BS about Houston or that players don't want to come here because they don't want to be assets when the posters don't know their assets from a hole in the ground

Just one example alone, our rap culture is like no other city. Look up the Screwed up Click. They created their own sound. You're just ignorant. Get out of Houston if you don't like it that much, you won't be missed.

WHAT!!! Go to Cali then. People are moving trying to move away from California in mass numbers (so to speak). I am from Houston, now living in Oregon, I am can tell you first hand that Californians are leaving their home state. The economy is HORRIBLE!!! At least Houston's economy is somewhat better then LA's or San Diego's. That is not my opinion, but just fact. You should find a Laker's fan site. Houston is my home, and regardless whether the Rockets are good or bad, they play a part in representing my home town that I am living far away from. Despite how beautiful Oregon is, I would much rather be in Houston then in this extreme liberal, hippy state.

Wow so many haters on this fourm...Don't you think I want to get out of here, the reason people are leaving is because the living costs are too much. Not because they want to get leave. I cant just pick up my bags and just go. I need to work for a couple of years, save up and hopefully find a job there. Also you make it sound like you have to live I Houston to be a Rockets fan which is really stupid...Me insulting the city of Houston means I am insulting the organization? You people need to chill out my god

Speaking of the douche bag wanting to go to Cali and no culture in Houston.........New York city, one of the most cultured cities in the US, has the 2nd most theaters and Museums. So you can head to number one so you can get cultured!! But wait, you already live in the city that was number 1, Houston, unless you really live in College Station and call yourself a Houstonian. If that's the case, I can see how LA could look better.

I gotta back up Skyline to some extent. I certainly don't think Htown is a hick city but it's not the most desirable city in the world or even in Texas (I would say Austin is nicer). Houston has tons of pluses but many big minuses like your clothes melt on you when you step outside, you have to drive a lot to get around, and there are giant flying cockroaches and rabid mosquitoes.

If I were a pro athlete, I would play in Houston mostly to help my hometown win a championship, not because it's my dream destination to live and yes (Northern) California is pretty awesome (the consistent 60 degree weather is what does it for me).

Speaking of family, wasn't Boston rumored to be shopping Pierce last season? The lakers were shopping Pau too right? Yeah the NBA is all about family. :)

houston job market . another reason why its better than LA or SD .. also you may want to save up extra if you want to live in the same size home as you do now .. Either pay double the prize or live in half the space
