Orlando has Dwight Howard and the most they can get for him is Brook Lopez off a foot injury and some mid level 1st round picks... Most people I hear on othe message boards and Orlando fans wants the Houston package.. Or Bynums.. But of course they want at least a centerpiece and some cap room. scola, Martin or Patterson is not a centerpiece... chandler is a future star in the making and Morey not given him up for a rental.. Be careful for what you wish for, We are in better shape than Orlando now with a full offseason you gotta at least give it to the trade deadline to see what can we do going forward.. we got young guys with potential we got cap space and we got picks.. And We should be the next destination for free agents looking for a big market with no state taxes with a group of guys already gelled together....I'm glad the Rockets are even in the discussion for Howard.. That in it self says we got something that people want..

I think this is the problem with Clutchfaners. We see one great/solid year out of a rookie and dream/think the world of them... next year he will hit his sophmore wall like Patterson, for one reason or another, and we will all be screaming for his head.

Parsons is far from untouchable... especially if Lowry is tradeable for a pick and a scrub.

You guys get too attached and overvalue our role players WAAAAAYYY too often.

Yeah you would take me out of context... I said a future star in the "making" maybe for this team.. He is a leader now.. and he is a hard worker will see and I said for a "Rental" why give up the Farm for a "Rental" They have Dwight Howard and barely can get crap back for him.. so you expect the Rockets to do better than Orlando for what we have?

If Howard could be talked into going to LA then a 3-way trade might work.

    LA gets: Howard

    Houston gets: Bynum

Magic gets: The Rockets 2 first round draft picks plus any 3 players Houston has plus maybe some players from LA (if needed) to make the money work out.

This probably means losing Parsons but Bynum's a franchise quality player.

All this is based on Bynum and Howard signing long term deals, too...

Parsons is far from a star, he's done some nice things but people tend to forget how frustrating he was at times. For example, when he settled for outside shots - fading away 90% of the time - and seemed to lose confidence very quickly. Also FTs, the guy is far from a finished product and I don't think he will be a star though still a good starter in this league. Far from untouchable though.

I laughed inside when I read that about Parsons. First let's see if he will be better than Chase Budinger i know he will never be a star player. All Parsons has is a motor lol.

Yeah but Mario Elle was a star when he hit those clutch shots... how about Robert Horry? I mean he aint going to be a Durant but he may be a piece to the championship puzzle.. like I said Orlando is looking for a Centerpiece.. what we don't have... Maybe Morey offered Chandler for Howard but what if Howard only stayed for a year.. Do you honestly think we can get our package of players back in a sign and trade to Brooklyn? Read the whole post don't take me out of context of the post... Orlando has a Dwight Howard trade chip and can't even get back a quality package.. We should be happy for what we have...

Didn't mean to take it out of context but imo if this deal for fans or Morey for that matter, hinges on giving up Parsons, then there's something wrong with how we value players. Of course the guy is great and can be much better than Elie and do some great things for this team, especially alongside a legitimate center. However, there's Royce White and possibly other SFs out there in case we lose Parsons. I personally do not even want Howard but if I did, then Parsons wouldn't and shouldn't be a dealbreaker, even if he stays just one year.

This would be the best deal for all involved but it makes too much sense to get done.

And Tayshaun was/is a star in the making still....

    Signed,

Darko Milicic (in correspondence with Carmelo Anthony)

I think your mis-use of the word star is the confusion here.

You don't have to be a star to be clutch, Horry, Maxwell, Kenny, nor Elie were ever stars in this league, but they all managed to step up when the moment arouse and hit clutch shots in pressure situations.

    You're terribly confused right now.

Let's be honest. The magic are gonna end up doing a deal with Brooklyn. Even though they have worse draft pick right now if they get cleveland involved they may get a cleveland first rounder which will probably be a higher lottery pick ran both of Houstons next year. Also doesn't it seem like a deal always gets done to accommodate the player anyway, regardless of how much damage that player does to an organization. It really seems like unless you build through the draft the best free agents are gonna end up on the West coast or the East coast. Fu*****g sucks but thats where we are at right now.

Funny how some of these threads go!!! Now all of a sudden Parson is this chump; and someone even wants to see if Chandler can be as good as Budinger  NEWS FLASH....Budinger was beat out of his starting spot fair-and-square by the rookie Parson early in the season. Parson's "Elite defense" easily beat out Budinger's "better than mediocre offense"!!! Look, I was a Budinger fan, I wanted him to succeed - what an exciting offensive player (geez, those dunks were highlight reel)

But, Budinger was given his chance. He earned his SF spot last year after stellar play, and he played well in Adelman's system. But his defense never progressed, if it would have been at least average Budinger would have been logging 30 minutes a game. I recall how this Clutchfan site was all gun-ho for Chandler's defense over Budinger's offense...

But in a Howard trade, Parson should not be hands off. From Daryl's interview a few day's ago, he said for a franchise player he is willing to overpay. But he is not going to overpay in a trade that does not land him a franchise player. I think Daryl is willing to tell Orlando, "... pick any combination of 5 players or draft picks in the Rockets organization -- we'll even take on 2 bad contracts off your book."

I think that the league is lowballing Orlando, and right now only Houston is giving Orlando market value.

All im saying is Orlando can't even get anything of true value cause Dwight Howard hold all the cards... So fans can be mad at Morey all they want... think about what the Orlando GM is going through... You can't think only about this "One Year" it's about the future of the Clubs.. the next 5 years or more.. No I wouldn't give up our core for a Dwight rental.. You think we suck now wait till a year from now when he leaves us hanging...

He isn't a star in the making. He will never be a star. He will never make an all star team and he will never command more than MLE money for the rest of his career. I like the guy, he is a good player and will be a great role player for years, but that's all.
