I still find it hard to believe Orlando prefers a max Brook Lopez and future late first round picks to a guaranteed lottery pick, already selected mid first rounders and useful expirings.

Sources: Magic, Nets and Cavaliers near completion of Dwight Howard trade. Deal will include 11 players, cash and multiple draft picks.

Magic will complete one last sweep before completing the trade, sources say. They want to make sure they’re accepting best offer

take it for what it's worth

I have a source that a deal with Nets is done, Dwight heading to Brooklyn

it's a complicated 11 player trade, don't know the exact details (3rd team involved and/or players)

my source has been right before and apparently Modell's is already printing the shirts out....

don't shoot the messenger if it doesn't happen, I still have hope we'll get him

EDIT: wow, the above tweet supports my source

Good all the drama will led him into going to Brooklyn of course this is what David Stern wanted the NBA to be.

So, still trying to get other bidders to bid up.

If Houston loses out on the bidding, I bet one of the issues is that the Rockets don't want to take back a bad contract with Howard. They need to maximize their cap room for 2013 so they can both keep Howard (and pay him the most) and attract another star player to join him.

Exactly lol I already made the trade on nba2K12 because I have learned David Stern's mysterious way of conducting business decisions. He has Morey in his dog house too!

And if Woj is to be believed, Brook Lopez likely on a max (4 year, $58M contract).

I mean, if IND is hesitant to match a max contract on Roy Hibbert, what makes Lopez worth it? Weird. Orlando must see some great upside with the dude.

Orlando wanted a center back. Centers don't grow on trees. It's not like Lopez is garbage. He's a good, young player that you can begin the rebuilding process with.

Yeah Deron Williams did not choose to play with Dirk to only play with Joe Johnson... He knew he was playing with Joe and Dwight!

Giving the max to him is a waste of cap

You don't begin a rebuild with a max contract to a non-allstar. Their old owner must not be down with complete rebuild. Must have something in common with Les.
