***** Howard! Keep the draft picks, young prospects and PAY 24 year old Bynum next season. I'd rather wait, watch and enjoy that team come together than this whole D-Ho hot mess.

    Ivan A ‏@MrNoMa_am @JRudolphSports Houston?

    Tony Mejia ‏@TonyMejiaNBA
@MrNoMa_am Would rely on Magic wanting KMartin's expiring plus Scola/picks. See that as fallback option but more attractive than BKLYN offer

Trade for Howard and flip him at the deadline for Bynum and picks.

Lakers. I think it's obvious that Bynum is the most attractive potentially in play piece for Orlando.

Does it really create a trade exception? We're under the cap aren't we?

Damn. I really don't want to Give up our future picks to get Howard. The irony is that we wouldn't be anywhere close to contending, even with Dwight. When you look at OKC, Miami, and LA, adding Howard doesnt even make us contenders. I don't see any way to get Howard without mortgaging our future, and I don't think getting Howard assures us of a bright future. Not trying to be the turd in the punch bowl, but for me, a lot depends on how much we give up to get him.

I still think Bynum is the best option for Orlando anyway.

I was told that anytime a team under the cap absorbs a contract it creates a trade exception. It is possible for us to end up over the cap after a Dwight trade and some other moves.

    Houston in: Bynum, Turkoglu

    LA in: Howard, Scola, Duhon

Orlando in: P. Gasol, K. Martin, P. Patterson, M. Morris,

Salt in a pick one way or another- why does something like this not happen?

Cause Orlando would be nuts to accept that deal

Why? Add in the Toronto and Dallas pick, are they still nuts?

    Why am I so confident????

Because I am looking at possible trade scenarios and Brooklyn, doesn't even have the second best package to offer, much less the best.

I try not to make blanket assumptions and bold asertions unless I am positive about something too. I have maintained for quite some time that the odds of Brooklyn trading for Dwight practically went down to zero when they lost a top 3 slot in the 2012 lottery. Because they simply do not have the assets to give to equal what Morey is offering right now. I don't claim certain knowledge about where Dwight is going. I have said we are in the Twilight Zone after July 1 and with DWill now committed to Brooklyn and that is what we are in. So, I don't know where Dwight is going. However, I have a hunch if he is traded, that he is most likely traded to Houston or possibly the Clippers. I think the Clippers could actually give Orlando more of what they want if they came to the table.

Get off me about Brooklyn. If he gets trade there you can give me all sorts of grief. But if you just look logically at Orlando's trade options with Brooklyn vs. their trade option with us or possibly the Clippers and Hawks, it makes NO SENSE for them to deal with Brooklyn. And that's all I'm saying. The odds of Brooklyn getting Dwight through trade this offseason are very slim to none.

See, you have a rooting interest in Dwight not coming here but you don't have a factual interest in him not coming here. You can't give a factual reason why we aren't at the top of the list of teams that could possibly trade for Dwight. At the same time, we can go through trade scenarios between us and Brooklyn and I can show you why Orlando is not likely to trade Dwight to Brooklyn instead of the Rox, over and over again.

Tommy Dee: I hear the Nets REALLY pushed to close the Dwight deal today. Nets were able to acquire another pick to include in the deal... could be done "as soon as tomorrow"

they shed a couple undesirable contracts and their roster looks something like:

    PG: Jameer
    SG: Kevin martin/Richardson
    SF: Q. richardson/M. Morris
    PF: Davis/Patterson
    C: Gasol

    + 2 future first rounders

Not a bad outcome for a disgruntled super star with a bad back

Why because the 12, 16, 18 picks we made are future super stars guaranteed??!!..Dwight is a proven commodity!!! We need a superstar not 12 role players...why do people not understand that...if you get a star, u can always get role players to come..not the other way around

I would not be surprised if Morey has given Hennigan a deadline of July 10 to get a Dwight deal done. Like I said several days ago, this week before the season actually starts is going to take all sorts of twists and turns. The problem Hennigan has if Morey walks away from the table on him is he has tremendously less options to trade Dwight. Dwight's value goes down DRASTICALLY if you take Morey and the Rox out of the picture.

So, don't be surprised if we find out after the fact that Morey gave Hennigan a deadline of some sort before he withdrew his offer and moved on building the team out. And don't be surprised if that is what is causing Hennigan to be scrambling right now to get the best offers out of all these other teams before he comes back to Morey.

Personally, I think Dwight is traded or the Dwight trade is agreed upon by Tuesday night before the season actually begins.
