I hope so. Not even so much because I'm holding out hope for Houston (I am, but barely). I'd rather he end up anywhere but Brookyn, Chicago, Boston, LA. I just don't think it is right that the NBA "premier" franchises don't have to pay full price for their acquisitions.

Imagine how good a GM Morey could be if it was just accepted by the rest of the league that he only had to offer 50 cents on the dollar to get whatever he wanted. He would have been able to get Rubio and Cousins when he targeted them.

    that sounds like the Rockets!

If he wants cap relief and draft picks, what other teams can Hennigan use to start a bidding war with us for a Dwight rental?

This whole CLE/Brooklyn rumor sounds like a pathetic attempt to get us to offer more.

I'm guessing Morey won't take Richardson and that's the only thing keeping the Magic looking around. IMO the Toronto pick is the second best asset available after Bynum.

This is perfect. Martin is a huge expiring contract, and we have the Toronto pick.

You might be right, but the gap is pretty substantial.

The Rockets appeal is the combination of the assets, not that any one asset is all that special. I wonder how much the idea of potentially trading Scola and Martin for picks appeals to Orlando.

Come trade deadline I have to think that at least one of those two nets a 1st rd pick, low as it may be, from a playoff/almost playoff team looking for a veteran boost.

Shouldn't surprise anyone. The Nets were out of it the moment they traded for Joe Johnson.

New GM wants a fresh start, sounds about right.

I would think the same could be said of JRich.

To be fair, it's highly possible that any Dwight trade has to wait until FA officially opens so teams cap space situations clear up and such. Perhaps Orlando needs us to officially complete the Lowry trade, not just for the pick, but to use the trade exception it creates on a player they want us to take.

Even if the Magic already have an offer that is good enough, there is very little reason for them to pull the trigger until late Tuesday at the earliest.

I can't see any of the suitors feeling the pressure to move on to plan B until the FA clock starts officially ticking, and by waiting, they could get someone to blink. If I was the Magic, I'd milk iy until Tue/Wed at the earliest. Perhaps longer, but then you risk someone deciding to move on to something else.

I would be flabergasted if something happens before then.

This will be a huge mistake by us,we dont even have a 2nd star to help entice Dwight to stay.We must get Jsmoove/Gay/Gordon for him to even consider staying.

Well they are making me nervous!!!..Morey give a little more and get Howard..I don't want to hear afterwards that we were close and lost out because of 1 or 2 picks or taking on a player we didn't want. I think its a low risk high reward trade to get him. be ain't leaving 58 million on table and leaving after 1 year. LIKE JOPOTMAC said, I think Orlando is bluffing and trying to get more from the rockets.
