If you want to make bad team look decent. Then you might not be wrong. But if you turn elite team into dynasty then it's not even close.
Larry is high as a kite... Jordan was just pure dominance, like a smoother KD on O with Hakeem's defense. LeBron is a freak of nature who has decent reflexes and a good basketball vision. Mentally, he's no where near Jordan and probably will never be. People are really quick to forget that LBJ joining the super friends (and now w/ Allen) pretty much took him out of the Jordan comparison, irregardless of how many rings he ends up with.
Lebron took 9 years to win a ring and Jordan 6. Of course he has more playoff wins. As for the Cleveland team being so terrible. 2012 Cleveland Cavs LeBron James (29.1 PPG) (9.3 RPG) (7.6 AST) Antawn Jamison (15.3 PPG) (7.4 RPG) Mo Williams (14.4 PPG) (5.4 AST) Shaquille O'Neal (11.5 PPG) (5.5 RPG) 1997 Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan (31.1 PPG) (7.9 RPG) (4.8 AST) Scottie Pippen (19.8 PPG) (6.8 RPG) (3.8 AST) Toni Kukoc ( 7.9 PPG) Dennis Rodman (4.2 PPG) (8.4 RPG) As you can see, LeBron has about as much help if not more than Jordan did. If you go further into the team stats, the rest of the Cavs blow out the rest of the Bulls in every stat category. These are just the top players on both teams and these are playoff stats. People just love to make excuses for LeBron James. He ran to a team with a top 5 player and a top 20 player. Scottie Pippen was closer to Bosh than Wade in NBA player ranking. Jordan willed his team to win while LeBron couldn't. This is why he ran to MIA. The answer is NO. LeBron will never be on Jordan's level. Maybe he can reach it in ability but nothing else.
lol cmon. Dirk was clutch and did his part but Tyson Chandler and Jason Terry had equal share in winning that chip
It is possible. But one always has to remember that discussions about "who is the greatest" in sports is HIGHLY subjective.
mike was best player i ever seen that could score from anywhere on the court. Lebron is mostly limited to layups because he lacks consistant outside scoring. Jordan got that nasty jumper and didnt have to rely on layups and free throws every game. Lebron now is playing more like rookie jordan not prime jordan.
mo williams and jamison sucked so badly in the playoffs. Shaq was pedestrian. Dennis rodman was a monster defensively; pippen also. The cavs as a team weren't. invalid comparison.
Lebron's a stat freak. But putting him in the top 10 greatest right now is just terrible basketball judgment. The whole superfriends fiasco took him out of any top greatest categories IMO
I don't see Lebron winning more than one more title. Miami Heat is not getting any better. Ray Allen is good asset, but Wade is already on decline. With healthy Avery Bradley, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Jeff Green Celtics would beat them. Thunder would beat them with healthy Eric Maynor. In first 9 games Thunder bench production was 35 PPG, then Maynor injured. Bench production fell down to 22 PPG, they managed to get it to 27 PPG. Expect that to be bigger game changer than anything what Ray Allen has to offer. Thunder is already better overall team than Miami. Now think 5 years from now. Prime Durant, Westbrook and Harden/Ibaka or maybe both, if they amnesty Perkins. Even without both of them, Westbrook is future top 30 all time player. Harden will sign extension for about 10M per year so that will gave them some cap flexibility. Capable management should give them solid role players. Who is going to challenge them? 35yo Wade and 32yo Lebron?
both dirk and legay obviously didnt do it on their own battier turned into ray allen lets not forget that to me Dirks postseason was more impressive beating the lakers, thunder and of course the heat. What dirk did in game 2 of that finals was simple amazing
Except that the Cavs were the #1 team in the NBA in team defense for the 2 years that they had the best record in the league. Just more excuses.
Jordan will be forever the GOAT, maybe not even because he was that on the court, but combining his on the court skills AND what he did for the NBA he is easily GOAT. The guy made the NBA what it is today, he gave Stern job security until he feels like calling it quits. When Lebron retires though I think he'll be in talks for the top 5 ever (somewhere between 2 & 5), where exactly on that list I'm not sure. The Heat are going to win at least 3 more titles if Lebron does what he did in these playoffs. They'll get a consistent slew of older players joining them for cheap and they'll have an unstoppable force in Lebron posting up and driving. 4+ Rings, 6+ MVPs, maybe a few DPOY awards, that will be plenty to have him securely in the top 5.
