i recall someone saying that 8 packs were all based on genetics, but i'm not sure if thats true or not. i'm pretty new to working out but i'd like to know if my goals are attainable or not.
Saw a dude at the pool last week that had a solid 8 pack over his layer if fat, so I would say that is false. But if you figure it out let me know.
the difference between 6 pack abs and 8 pack abs are so noticeable... i'd be extremely disappointed if it was all genetics or
Strict diet, lots of work. Can be done, I've been there when I was young, fit and training daily. 3 years ago I dropped from 130kg down to 86kg...I was rippled like the ocean.
is this paul's alternate account? No soul brothers so i don't think so. either way,the "sausage massage" sn had me laughing.

I just started working out again after several years of neglect. It's so dam difficult to lose the belly rolls. I'll be happy if i can get my 36inch waist down to 32 again, ripped abs will just be a bonus.
6 packs are made in the kitchen more than in the gym. If you don't have a reallt strict diet I doubt you will have a 6 pack I don't care how much you work out.
There is a genetic component but as others have said, abs are "made" in the kitchen. Stict diet + cardio = visible abs.
This. You can do a million crunches and build a 6 pack but you won't ever see it if you don't diet and do cardio, you'll just have a strong core under layers of fat. And the part about genetics I believe only pertains to the way your abs look, but every person in this world can build a 6 or 8 pack if they diet and exercise properly.
Your right, before you start hitting the ab workouts hard, the first step is to get rid of the extra layers of fat on your stomach, which can be obtained by, like u said, changing your eating regimen. Its not even required to be that strict honestly, you can even have your cheat days once every two weeks if u don't min a tad bit slower results. Once your stomach is flat then u can start working out your abs. All you need is 15 min a day 5 days a week(the abdominal muscles are very small so they need as much attention)and cardio is key to burning that fat so at least 30 minutes of cardio should be fine. Just make sure you do variations so your abs don't get used to the workouts. Try to hit the abs from all angles, The two bottom ones are always the last and most stubborn to develop. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JLmf_08rlwA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Diet + Cardio to get lean, but you won't ever be lean and big naturally. Truth be told, since I've been around the block with this ...DRUGS. Some HGH, some Tren Ace, some Ephedra/Caffeine, and maybe add something like Var or Equipoise depending on your goals with a strict diet, cardio, etc. you'll look like a new man in 6 weeks, do it for 12 weeks...an even newer men. I'd love to see some average joe, jump on a relatively well-dosed cycle and get ripped. It'd put all the naysayers to shame, you don't achieve an aesthetically, cut, ripped, lean physique without enhancement. You can be 5'10, 170 and have abs, but you won't ever look full, big, and huge without the drugs.
