Houston will not be able to get Dwight by giving Orlando 1 or 2 overpaid vets. Orlando is not interested in overpriced vets. They want cheap, young, and draft picks.

I agree with this 1000%!!! We think no one wants to play in Houston cause Houston isn't attractive, THAT"S NOT TRUE!!!

People don't want to play in Houston because there's no one here to play with, but as was stated if we get Dwight we all of a sudden hold a lot of the chips because not only will we have Dwight, but we will presumably have cap room for other players as well.

Deron Williams said openly he wanted nothing to do with New Jersey and that them moving to New York meant nothing to him, but since they could pay him more money, and they brought in Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace now all of a sudden staying with the Nets didn't look like a bad idea. So why not go for Dwight.

Dwight is the only possible way right now that we can get good. Either he lures other players here and we're good, or he bolts and leaves us as a terrible lottery team, either way it's better than the wheel of mediocrity that we're on right now!

I just don't see Dwight Howard as being one of those NBA players with even half a brain. How the hell is he going to comprehend potentially losing $57 million dollars when he CAN'T EVEN FIT INSIDE THE BUILDING?!?!?!

To Dwight Howard, 2 + 2 = Ice Cream Party.

Depends. If you are talking about Dwight Howard the future long term Rocket then I think 99% want him. If you are talking about Dwight Howard the 1 year rental then that where the number drops off. Sign and trade will be the only thing I would expect and even that's not a guarantee. And even with a sign and trade, I'd expect 50 cents on the dollar of what we're paying getting back "better than nothing" offers.

Lance makes a few good points. Odd, since his NBA insight and knowledge is Solomanesque. But, fine Z.

On his way to NJ? Really? Where do these rumors come from? At best it seems like LA is his next stop (if not HOU).

Lance is a very Houstonian Fan meaning he feels like the fans feel. He doesn't want guys who don't want to rep the city and takes pride in the city.

Lance comes from a Houston fan prespective but that's a clouded view.

Howard seems like a guy who could get angry at the Nets for giving up on not trading for him and eventually fall in love with our team, fans and city.

name recognition shows its ugly head again! never mind his back surgerys he hasnt recoverd from and him being out first part of season while recovering. Also lets never forget him leaving to join a team in the east more likely. Rape our team for 4 months of howard while barely making playoffs again and getting stuck with bad contracts of hedo or richardson???? nahhhhh

A risk the franchise should take. He will be leaving 30 million on the table if he signs elsewhere.

T-Mac didn't pout his way off the team. He actually wanted to stay in Houston. It's just that Rockets management didn't want him on the team anymore.

Superstars don't grow on trees. As much as Dwight pisses me off, I would pull the trigger for te trade. We trade all our young talent for him? Ok fine. We trade all our picks for him? Ok fine. We trade all our assets for him? Ok fine. We can replace these. If he bolts, we'll turn terrible. Ok fine, Ill tank for Shabazz.

Let's trade for Dwight and then send him to the D-League for three days. That'll teach 'em.
