For the Select Team, not at all. Luther Head was chosen one year.

In other Team USA news, Blake Griffin is now a lock and James Harden & Iggy are favored to take the final two spots. Because of the 2010 World Championships, I would be surprised if Harden is selected over Eric Gordon.

It is a problem they will overcome. This year, Team USA is just too talented. Tyson Chandler will be crucial defending the paint, but Kevin Love, LeBron and KD will be enough help on the boards. Plus Melo and WB rebound well for their position.

Chandler is solid in the middle.. will be interesting to see who his backup is now that Davis is basically OUT. But im not worried seeing as how we have some really elite perimeter defenders in: Kobe, LeBron, Westbrook, Paul, Iggy, and Gordon along with great rebounders in: Griffen, Love, and basically the whole front line.

Serious question- why no 3pt specialists?

No Terry, Novak, Reddick etc? Wouldn't it have been a good idea to call at least one of them into camp?

I'm guessing Gordon might be considered the player selected in that category?

since when? in the 2010 Worlds, they sucked and didn't advance past quarterfinals, so we didn't play them.

The Redeem Team in Beijing beat them by 37 pts in Group. Then by 11 pts for the Gold medal game.

I think you are talking pre-Redeem Team

LOL I think we need a rule on the BBS that we must always call him by his full "Tyson Chandler." I now associate the word Chandler with Chandler Parsons so I was confused for a second by your post.

no 3pt specialist maybe because the 3pt line is closer in nba rules and the usa players are good perimeter shooters, that would explain it all. they can shoot when they are wide open at the perimeter..

SELECT team guys, this means he'll only play vs. Tam USA in practice, not at the olympics.

Thats what they're about to report

    http://www.deseretnews.com/article/765588480/AP-Source-Griffin-Harden-Iguodala-on-US-roster.html

    Team:

    LeBron James
    Kobe Bryant
    Carmelo Anthony
    Chris Paul
    Deron Williams
    Kevin Durant
    Russell Westbrook
    Andre Iguodala
    James Harden
    - -
    Tyson Chandler
    Kevin Love
    Blake Griffin

    Who needs bigs?

A token 3 point shooter would be nice, but its not like they're terrible from deep

That was my thought exactly. I hear what's been said about the international three point line but I just think it would be helpful off the bench in certain games and situations.
    Meh

Look at CP3, KD, Harden, Love, Deron, all these guys are deadly 3pt shooters %-wise. Melo, Kobe, Bron can easily get hot from downtown, too.

Just wondering if Kobe will go alpha dog again like he did at Beijing. Heck, I even wonder if he will start.

Starting 5 could easily be Cp3, James, Durant, Melo and Chandler.
