Expand the deal (what deal?); include Lee. Get Shumpert and a future 1 back. If only...

Plenty of 3s on the roster. Of course they're all 4's...

Actually the guy looked pretty good, I thought. And Philly's #1? That's appealing. Toronto could replace them in the p/o's...

I definitely wouldn't mind dumping Brockman and taking on Harrellson. One more 7 footer(or near 7 feet) wouldn't hurt. Just in case Asik falls through.

Any way to use Camby to keep them from matching Lin?

Why are they talking about picking up Pablo Prigioni? They already have Jason Kidd as a backup and they already said they are planning on matching for Jeremy Lin. Doesn't make sense to sign him as well.

The far, far more likely outcome is that NY does a S&T with Dallas for Kidd then uses their MLE on Camby. In fact DAL & NY are currently working on the details of a S&T for Kidd.

The thing the Rockets have in their favor is that Kidd has already chosen the Knicks, whereas Camby may just as well prefer the Heat. If NYK does a S&T for Kidd, the Rockets can threaten to just S&T Camby to the Heat.

It's the smarter play for New York to do the S&T for Camby.

    How about this trade?

    To Knicks:
    Marcus Camby
    Jon Brockman

    To Rockets:
    Toney Douglas
    Josh Harrellson
    Dan Gadzuric
    Jerome Jordan
    Future 2nd Round Pick

Gadzuric and Jordan can be waived. Harrellson is a decent backup big man. Douglas could be a backup PG.

Same trade I proposed last night, except you added Douglas. Frankly, the Rockets would prefer to utilize the extra $2.1M in cap room than take on Douglas. He's an undersized SG and a pathetic PG. No, thanks.

That is true but I just think Camby is going want some more money ($4-5 million range) and I thought only way Knicks can offer that is by getting rid of Douglas. Knicks can also offer a few million bucks to the Rockets to take Douglas off their hands.

Douglas is trash. Morey needs to play hardball. It's Lin or S&T Camby to the Heat.

The Knicks have leverage. They could work out a S&T with the Mavs for Kidd. Then sign Camby with their $3 mil exception and the Rockets get nothing.

Lin is going to the Knicks no matter what so get over it. Douglas might be trash but the Rockets can get him for free if the Knicks send cash as well.

There's no guarantee we dont lose Lee for nothing even if we retain his bird rights. I guess because I don't care as much about cap space for this year given that I'd prefer a rebuild to continuing to chase Dwight Howard, I'd rather sign and trade Camby to the heat for philly's 1st rounder.

Marcus Camby cannot--repeat, CANNOT--receive a penny more than (a) $1.4M with the Heat or (b) $3.09M from the Knicks, without the Rockets' cooperation. Period.

The Rockets/Knicks can pay Camby a multi-year contract starting at $3.27M in a S&T deal that could both involve a Brockman salary dump and exclude Toney Douglas's guaranteed contract.

The Rockets would be interested in a Camby S&T for a freaking second round pick. A SECOND ROUND PICK!

If they can't get a deal that has absolutely zero downside, the Rockets can simply just walk away. They can always buy a second rounder at the draft if they want to.

This statement is fundamentally flawed in its complete and utter incongruity with how the Rockets' ownership and front office thinks.

CAP FLEXIBILITY is far more important to the Rockets than Toney Douglas's contract plus cash.

Not worth it. Not at all. See above for why they have zero incentive.
