To be fair, Pierce is slow and has had a successful NBA career

Slow, lefty, lanky three with a developing shot from Kentucky. Can't help but think of Tayshaun Prince when you say those things. If Jones turns into a Tayshaun type player then he will be fine. I like his size. I don't believe he will ever be a stud, but can be a solid contributor.

Poor man's Rudy Gay. Does not have his range.

What I like from him is that he attacks the basket with power and should be able to draw fouls. We don't have anyone that does that. So often we settle for mid and long range jumpers.

I see him as a face up 4 whose capable of playing the three. Great frame, size, athleticism, and ball handling ability to drive past other bigs. A very Lamar Odom esq player. Need's to become a more consistent shooter. But I love his overall aggressiveness.

I doubt that he is "Waaaaay" more athletic than Patterson, maybe more than PPat last season hurt but PPat is a pretty athletic guy.

Some of you claiming he's "too slow" have obviously never been in his position to where you're 90-100% better than everyone else on the court. Look at what he was doing while he was moving slow. What's the point of playing faster? When you're that good, you try your best to do what you do without getting hurt.

Also, the fact that he was able to adapt from doing it all in highschool to becoming a role player, playing within the system on a championship college team should be more valuable than most of you realize. Like one of the posters mentioned above, he has elite skills that can't be taught. He's in the N.B.A now. He'll be faster when he needs to be.

Well I disagree with Royce White, I think he's most effective on the wing. He's ability to handle the ball and amazing court vision, in combination with his athleticism and ability to attack the rim, would make him a very effective wing player.

Although he would have to improve his jump-shot, drop his weight to at least 250lbs, and improve on defense. But with his type of motor I think he's capable of all these things.

One thing that people seem to be dismissing is how well he and White handle the ball. Think about it guys. We have two big men who have PG ball handling skills!!!!:eek: We had none last season. Two big men with good assist numbers!
Both of them make this the ultimate running team.

Well he is an 18th pick. What do you expect an 18th pick will do? Become a superstar? If he was a top 10 pick, it will be different. But an 18th pick, its not much of a risk.

Terence is more of a stretch 4 that may be able to guard opponents SF at times.

Royce can play SF on offense or point forward or PF and very capable of posting up or facing against any type of post defender. Royce has the strength to guard the post against PF and C so he would allow some flexibility on defense.

I think people seem to forget that you don't have to guard the same guy that guards you.

Good post. Seeing the White highlights were insightfull. He has some potential. Can play multiple positions.

Jones is a project. That was said from the beginning....

Lamb and White should be major contributors if the are on the roster to start the season.

maybe it was just me, but frankly watching the finals most of the time it looked like the Heat were very slow and deliberate until... well we all know what went down.. so T J bring us what you got.

Royce White can be a SF. Watch his play in college.
