So what do the Lakers get? Orlando would prefer Bynum over what we have to offer any day, if we only get Gasol out of all of this, its only to be a really long season..

You are completely entitle to your opinion. As to Luis = soft? I completely devalue your opinion. That is my opinion.

Bynum has better trade value than Dwight Howard? I think that every GM in the league would disagree with you.

Defensively, Howard is the best player in the league.

Bynum is more skilled on offense? But who is the more effective offensive player? It's not a game of H-O-R-S-E. This is the same argument that we use to hear about Shaq "All he can do is dunk". Ok, but nobody can stop him from dunking so why is that a bad thing. If Howard gets me 20+ with his simplistic offensive arsenal then I'm suppose to prefer Bynum's 18 a game because Bynum has a better variety of shots? Howard has averaged over 20pts/game on almost 60% fg% in 4 of the last 5 years. When has Bynum ever done that?

Are you really going to question health when Bynum is in the discussion? Bynum's knees are much more of a concern than Howard's back.

Here's a simple question? If you truely believe the case you've made for Bynum then why do you think that the Laker's are trying to acquire Howard? Why not keep Bynum for the lower salary?

No, both Howard and Bynum are free agents after next season.

The Magic covet Bynum but are insisting on an assurance that he’d sign a contract extension to remain in Orlando beyond next season, according to Wojnarowski. Like Howard, Bynum has just one year left on his contract.

Sources say there is one other trade scenario for a significant player that intrigues Magic general manager Rob Hennigan, but that target is unclear. Before the Magic would agree to consummate a trade for Bynum, they would need to know they could sign him to a contract extension, sources said. Bynum is entering the final year of his contract in the 2012-13 season

Hopefully it somehow involves Bynum ending up in Houston. Don't know why anyone would think Howard could be convinced to re-sign here, especially after seeing how he regrets his Orlando decision. Rockets management can't even convince our own players to stay, with a starting role, or other free agents to sign here. Why on earth would anyone believe they could convince Howard to?

Just a guess, but that other "significant player" the magic have interest in is probably either Horford, or Dirk. Houston just doesn't have a Bynum, Horford, or Dirk they can offer. We've got to be bringing it up the rear in the Howard negotiations.

If only beat writers wrote about the Rockets talks as well. I'll bet the reason we see LA and Brooklyn 'active' is because they have a trade package to beat. I believe the Rockets package is the one to beat. Of LA cant give up Bynum, and Brooklym can't find a team dumb enough to pay Humphries, then Howard will be a Houston Rocket.

Bynum will not come to Houston in ANY scenario. He is the single guy Orlando is most interested in. He is the guy LA is least interested in moving. If Bynum is traded, it's going to be to the Magic. Only.

If we catch anything from an LA-Orl swap, it'll be the likes of Gasol and/or Glen Davis.

It's still baffling to me how Morey expects to land a center with no center to swap in return. His collection of runt forwards remains indefensible.

I wish this would just be over with. I'm ready to move on with or without Howard.

Morey should definitely say no to trying to give another team Dwight while we get some terrible player like Humpries or Gasol or whoever.

Sorry about that, I thought he had an extension through the 2013-14 season. Thanks for the info!

I say keep KMart for next years free agency. Screw Dwight. he won't sign back. let's develop our young guys cause we're like OKC rebuilding on steroids. we have all the good players we need already. trade scola away, we have cap space for next years big star with already good young team. plus the first round pick from Toronto.

right now we're pretty good for a young team. very very deep too. except on pg but morey always gets the right pg. Machado looks like a rondo level potential. very good. bright future for us.

I am fine with the idea that we want to avoid Hump or Gasol, but horrible players? If you think they are horrible you don't watch basketball.

You're right. If you meant something other than terrible when you said terrible I don't even know what you mean. Is "terrible" some sort of new slang meaning good to very good players?

Gasol is soft, declining and doesn't want to be here - only Hollywood is good for him and his contract is bad thus he is terrible for the Rockets. Humpries does what all the other PFs on our team can do or will do in 1-2 years. We can do better, there's a lot of better players out there.

I just hope we don't get stuck with Gasol or Humpries. If Howard is not the ultimate goal, then we shouldn't be involved in helping anyone else do anything. I believe we are that undisclosed team, we just got smart enough to keep our mouth shut until something actually happens. We'll get Dwight and probably another pretty good player like Gordon and run with that, and dare Dwight to leave when we sweet talk CP3.
