I apologize in advance for creating a new thread even though i am new to forum as a poster but i have run out of ideas and ways to go about with this situation. I need help, i can't bare seeing my mother deal with this much more.

Approximately 24 hours ago my 14 year old sibling ran away without leaving clues as to where she was going to. Unfortunately since she must have left at night when all of us in the house where asleep, we have no idea what she was wearing. A police report has been filed but it seems that no action will be taken until later on. I asked the police officers that came over if it was possible to trace the cell phone number to find the or at least have an idea of where she might be. Turns out that that's received for until the situation has become murder case, what help would that be by then.

I've tried downloading programs, apps to be able to track by GPS her cell phone, but i've had no luck with any program. Perhaps someone on this board has some sort of knowledge to go about a case like this. Any help will be highly appreciated. I just wish that my first post/thread would have been on better circumstances.

I'm 99% sure she is at a friends house or someone she knows.

I would check her computer to see if there are clues. Also, you can check her text and who she is calling to if you are the primary cell phone in the plan.

Hoping she's just chilling at a friend's house.

My sister did that when we were in high-school. Ran away for a few days but was just at a friends house.

Check her wardrobe cabinet and see what dress/clothing is missing. That must be the one she's wearing. While at it, check if many are missing. It might suggest doing it for a long haul.

Check her computer for search history and see what clues are there. Checking her wardrobe is good idea too. But my guess is she ran away to friends house or somewhere familiar. Try to think where she considers her safe haven. Boyfriend? Best friend? Shopping mall?

See if you can msg all her friends on facebook to ask if they know anything about your sister whereabouts? Tell them your mom can't sleep and hurting herself for your sister returns. Maybe some sympathy from her friends would make them come clean to where your sister might be at

Check her Facebook friends and social media that she uses, that will give you some clues to her where abouts.
Computer history is also a good place to start.

Go to her favourite hang outs and hope that you see her.

    Good luck.

Contact her best friends. One of them knows where she is. If they all they say they don't, they are lying. For now tell them to at least have her pass along a message that she is OK. Make sure her friends' parents know she has run off.

Yeah man, sorry to hear. Try to call the cell phone company and see the activity if she took the phone and still using it or phone numbers contacted. I think police can only get the address's and names of the phone numbers from phone company.

Thing is, that i've tried most of the things suggested but have gotten no where . The deal with checking her computer is out the window because we all just sure one computer. The next closest and ideal thing to do would have been to check through her cell phone for clues but she took off with that . Although someone suggested a good idea of checking with our cell phone plan provider , for details on who she's been in contact with during this time . We've been getting alot of of help and i've managed to think clearly and logically up to this point ,it just gets a little difficult trying to do so when you see your mother completely emotionally drained . By the way ,some of her friends have been getting questioned by some of my family members and good longtime family friends and although i can't confirm it, i was told that some people that that know her have been deleting any pictures that they may have of her on facebook. Clearly news has spreading and someone might know something but are scared to speak .

Assuming you have service through a somewhat big provider you should be able to log into their website and see almost realtime what is being done. With AT&T I can see usage from yesterday.

I guess Cricket won't cut it, we did ask them if they could track her location but told us that they couldnt do to it being a privacy issue ,so im guessing that they wouldn't hand us that type of information either.

What you should ask for is a call log or text log. They should be able to provide that. Use that to contact someone and in a nice, very concerned way, explain that you are trying to find her to bring her back home safely because the streets aren't a safe place for a 14 year old girl. You may strike out on some but keep trying different numbers.

I have been through this before and I know scary it is.

I am praying for you, your family and her.
